We started to about 6 weeks ago. Before that our work didn't offer it because of our bookkeeping software.

@dolphin: DH and I just have our checks put into our checking. We work for the same company so it's kinda funny to see our checks deposited about 30 seconds apart.

We both have direct deposit. It's way more convenient than biweekly trips to the bank. We get paid on opposite weeks, so if we had paper checks, I'd be going to the bank literally every Friday. Plus, our checking accounts wave monthly fees if you have direct deposit.

@Penny Lane: Yup. Many of my coworkers still do get paper checks. I still get my bonus check on paper every month, no option to go paperless for that one.

My husband has direct deposit and I'm paid monthly via a paper check.

Yep! I can't imagine having to go to the bank every other Friday to deposit a check. Once a month to deposit our renters check is enough.

Yep! I don't know the last time I did paper checks. I can hardy manage to get to the grocery store, let alone a bank... (although I imagine I'd REALLY want the money in my account enough to find the time!)

Paper checks are an American thing, they didn't exist in Switzerland.
