I don't but I guess I should try it with LO 3 because putting the car seat into the body of the cart takes up a lot of space.

Yep, I started out using the Joovy sling when she was smaller & likely to fall asleep, more we use our Ergo. Works great! Once in a while I'll still put the carseat into the cart, or just use the travel system stroller if she's asleep &/or it's just a quick stop.

Yeah, I always wear her at the grocery store so she'll nap while I shop.

Only when he got a bit older (4/5 months?) and prolonged sitting in the bucket seat in the shopping cart would make him fussy. I didn't want him falling asleep in the carrier and I'd have to transfer him to his car seat and have him wake up. He wasn't ever a good sleeper/napper so I valued any minutes of him sleeping!

Yes! How I do all my grocery shopping with LO since he was 6 weeks old. He is cozy and I have both hands free. It works great for us!

It's always worked better for me to wear little ones than to keep them in the infant seat. My second baby still prefers to be worn over sitting in the seat unless it's a car cart.

He will be in the cart for a bit but that's it. I pretty much have to baby wear when I do anything! Which I enjoy but he is so heavy at 30 lbs and 1yo. Trying to do more back carries but it's not as effortless as the front carry.

Oh yeah. He woke up in his bucket, so it was a waste of space

I did for the first year. The bucket seat took up way too much space in the cart!

Always, unless I have the stroller with me. Hopefully he sleeps at the same time.

All the time. I think I tried putting the carseat in the cart once and I said I'd never do it again. It's just so much easier using a carrier for me.

Definitely - way too much hassle to have the bucket seat taking up the whole top of the cart.

Never with LO1, I would shop with his snap n go in the beginning then later he would sit in the cart. Once LO2 came along I wore her while the big one sat in the cart since I solo parent most of the time. Now they're 3 and almost 2 it's hard to shop with them by myself so I only go while they're at daycare or to stores with double seater carts.

I clicked his bucket seat into the stroller and stuffed groceries in the basket underneath until about 3-4 months when he started to get bothered being in it too long. After that, I've been babywearing in our sling, and it's great! Now at 9mo, I tried putting him in the seat, but it weirded him out a little. He prefers the sling at this point. I don't mind!

I wore LO2 every time we went grocery shopping. It was easier to be hands free. Most of the time it was an easy nap for him too.

Every time. She's not a fan of her bucket seat, but loves being worn.

Always. I hate using the germy carts, but my two year old has to ride while I wear the baby. I wore my two year old until I was too pregnant.

Always. I tried shopping once without a carrier. DS was about a month and cried the whole (short) time. Three people came up and told me it gets better. I was too embarrassed to tell them he wasn't my first baby.

It depends on which store I go to. A couple places have nice double carts, so we do that. Some places (Target is the worst!) have terrible, clunky double carts, so I wear one baby on my back and put the other in a regular cart.

Always for the first year. It was the best! So comfy and so much easier.

If I'm walking to the grocery, I just put her in the stroller and use the under-stroller basket as my cart. If I have driven to the grocery, then I wear her and push a regular grocery cart. I've never put a car seat into a grocery cart.
Though come to think of it, she may be big enough now that I could just let her sit in the grocery cart!
Most of the time though, DH gets the week's groceries after DD goes to bed on Monday evenings.

I pretty much always wear her . She's 15 months so she could ride in the cart but she likes to be held so she'd just ask to be picked up anyways.

Yes - the infant bucket takes up too much space in the cart. Although now she can ride in the cart seat so I do that if she's awake.

I used to but now my belly is too big. I'll definitely be wearing three to the grocery store.

Yes, otherwise she takes up too much space in her seat. We also have a 3 1/2 year old that sits in the cart.
pomegranate / 3921 posts
Yes! I ended up carrier-less in Target the other day and IT. WAS. A. MISTAKE. It's all fun and games with a baby riding in the cart until she decides she's over it. Haha!

I did until she was big enough to sit in the cart - and she prefers that. Easier to see everything and grab at groceries obviously!

DH normally does the shopping without us, but if LO goes we wear her. We don't have a bucket seat, and she can't sit up consistently yet.

Yes!!! We love Babywearing at all times and it helps keep hands (and eyes) free during shopping.
