From scratch, unless I"m in a MAJOR time crunch (like unexpected guests are coming over for dinner/dessert).

Always scratch. For everything. Scratch brownies are just about as easy as box!

It all depends. Cookies and cobblers etc are from scratch. Brownies and cakes are from a box.

Almost always from scratch. It definitely makes a difference. I definitely always make icing/frosting from scratch. I can't stand the store bought kind.

I bake from scratch. I always have the staples for baking in my pantry.

Always from scratch, including pie crust and frosting as well I absolutely love to bake!!!

It depends. I make some things completely from scratch (like mochi cakes and cookies) but some things I bake out of the box (brownies).

From scratch unless I'm pressed for time. I enjoy it, unlike cooking!

Depends on what I am making. I have made choc chip cookies and cheesecake all from scratch. Brownies from the box. Peach cobbler assembled at home. Apple crisp semi homemade, err topping storebought...the apples were peeled and sliced by me at least.

Some things I'll bake from scratch(cookies, cakes, frosting) other things I always make boxed(brownies, pie crust).

Depends..but everything tastes the same to me.

always scratch. I find it's just as easy, and significantly cheaper too!

More scratch but some box for convenience. Plus I just love the way some boxed baked goods taste!

Everything from scratch. My mom is a baking purist and rubbed off on me!

Always from scratch. I can't actually remember the last time I bought a mix.

99% from scratch, but cake pops are easier {for me} when I use a box and a can.

Mostly from scratch, but for cake I usually use a box. I just haven't found a recipe with as cook of a texture even though the flavor is better. Always make my own icing though.
And sometimes I just want simple boxed muffins or something.

It depends what it is, but I would say 80% scratch and 20% from a box of some sort.

I don't bake very often, mainly because LO is allergic to the common ingredients needed for baked goods. When I do bake, it's usually from scratch.

My husband's birthday just passed and I decided it would be a good idea for my son and I to bake a cake together. Given that I wanted him to be involved as possible and we didn't have a lot of time, we used a boxed cake mix but doctored it up with the Cake Mix Doctor method.
To me, right now, it is more important to spend the time with my son and have him be involved than to have things be baked from scratch. Eventually, that will change, I am sure.

A little of both, depending on how lazy I feel. I much prefer making my own frosting though.

Generally from scratch. I've started using boxed pie crusts though. It's so much faster which means a greater likihood of pie!

I consider myself somewhat of a cookie connoisseur ...I've spent years perfecting the recipe and am known in my family as the cookie girl.
Well. When I was 9mo pregnant I was really craving cookie dough so I bought the pillsbury tube stuff. I made them up and Dh, who didn't know they were from a TUBE, starts going on and on about how delicious they were: "omg Hun, these are the best cookies you've ever made!! Don't lose this recipe!!" Hmph. Lol

I do a mix. If I'm baking a cake or brownies, they are normally from a box. If it's cookies or pizza dough or pretzels, I do them from scratch. Sometimes I'll bake from scratch but it's normally only if I have time or if I'm going with a family recipe.
I'm all ABOUT a refrigerated pie crust if I'm hosting a holiday!!

@char54: ha ha HA HA HA, that just made me laugh so hard. My husband would do the same thing. Makes you feel great, doesn't it?

Used to use mixes/boxes until I looked at the ingredients. Now only from scratch...

I love baking so everything is from scratch.
@shinymama: Ditto on the cake pops being my exception to the scratch rule, the way I see it they are more about the cute factor than the taste anyway!
@char54: I could totally see that happening in my house!

@mediagirl: lolol seriously. Now when I'm baking he always asks me if it's the "good cookies from the doughboy" just to get me going, hahaha

From SCRATCH, booyah! I love baking. I miss it since I'm GF and GF baking supplies are expensive. I've never made pie very often, but that's because I hate making pie crust, but store-bought pie crust is just gross. And homemade frosting- YUMMMMMMM.

usually from scratch, but i love the ghirardelli brownie box mix. so good!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
Usually from the box. But if there isn't a mix for it, I'll make it from scratch.
I do love baking but I haven't done much baking this year.
