We are taking a trip soon, just DH and I. I am hoping to have a lot of reading time by the pool/on the beach! I prefer physical copies of books, and I have several that need to be read, but I'm trying to figure out how many to bring.
When you are on a vacation, how many books can you actually get through? This will be a very relaxed vacation, no kids!

last year I went to the beach for a week with no kids - I read NINE books! Havent read 9 nine books in the past 5 years - haha

I'd probably take 3 or 4 - and plan to buy another one while I'm there (I've read some really neat books by buying "local" authors when I'm traveling!)

I used to bring a book a day, but have since been converted to a kindle so now I can bring hundreds of books and bounce between all of them or any of them.

Saving space in my suitcase on vacations is one of the biggest benefits of my Kindle! Pre-Kindle I would usually take one book per day of vacation. Our two week honeymoon was a real problem, my bag weighed a tonne.

I bring my kindle and fill it up with new books before we go. Since DD goes to sleep so early, we usually have tons of time in the evenings. Last trip, I think I read 4 books in 6 days or something.

DH and I just went on a trip alone and I got to read a little bit! It wasn't a beach vacation, so we were doing things more during the day, otherwise I would have read more. So long story short, yes.

I usually bring two books and my Kindle. I prefer real books when reading by the pool or on the beach, but I also like to have my Kindle as back up in case I get through the books I brought. I also tend to bring long books on holiday (Gone with the Wind has always been a staple I bring on long holidays because I know I love it and it's about 1000 pages! That doesn't work if you don't like to reread books though)

Just kindle books, I don't want to haul books around. How many depends on the trip. Pre-kids, I recall going through 4-5 books on a 3-week trip to Thailand, which is a lot for me - I could only do 2 every 3 days if we were doing literally nothing else but lie around and read. Nowadays, we have always traveled with DD so far, so I get through like half a book on a trip.

I don't really like reading on a device that much, I will do it for really thick or expensive books where the digital version is cheaper. For vacation, I tend to like to bring paperbacks. I don't know why, but it's nostalgic somehow.

I take 2-3 depending on length of trip. Usually I can finish one each way on a flight, and 1-2 while on vacation.

I have to avoid taking any in a new series on a trip because I get a little obsessed trying to finish it 
But no kids? Go for it!
I'd stock up your kindle with as many library books and free kindle reads as you can and bring 4-5 physical books.
I actually wouldn't recommend taking the Cursed Child (it really is a script and thus a super fast read for the amount of space it will take).
P.S. I love S.J. Maas, I've been a fan since her fictionpress days and she's really taken off!

@Bao: I don't think any of them sucked, so you should be good. The Night Circus left me feeling unsatisfied with the ending, but it was still allllllright. I selfishly want you to take A Court of Thorns and Roses because it's on my to-be-read list and if we have the same taste in books, you can tell me how it is, hahaha.

@Bao: our taste in books is a bit different but out of the ones pictured, I loved Water for Elephants and the Nightingale.
I always bring books on trips. I try to find time to read as much as I can. I haven't taken a trip without my DD for awhile but when we go to the cottage I usually have time to read 2-3. If I was on a trip with just DH I'd likely bring a couple more.
