I always forget to! Some stores in brooklyn are bag-free to reduce waste. And in my parents' city, it's mandatory to charge for bags (I think it's 5 or 10 cents).
Do you bring your own bags?

I always forget. I need to keep them in my car!

I do. We have a ton of leftover out-of-town bags from our wedding with our family crest on them that I use. They're much bigger/stronger for carrying groceries home in our urban setting.

I bring them to the store, in the car, and then promptly forget them in the trunk. Doh!

Always! I don't go grocery shopping unless I have my bags!

Always! I love using them. I don't have to make as many trips carrying groceries because they hold so much.

Almost always. I have quite a collection now of shopper bags and people are pretty conscious about it around here.

I do! I keep them in my trunk so I don't forget them at home.

Yup, i bring bags and a plastic green basket. I'm so mad though...someone stole our bags when DH was at Costco!! Who steals grocery bags??

Most of the time I do. I have it in my car and I had bought the Costco pack (one XL, one L, and one L cooler style) and love those. I usually bring the L one to the smaller markets so I don't have to have multiple bags to carry into the house. One time I went to Buy Buy Baby in MD and didn't know (more like forgot b/c I do remember hearing in the news a while back) that they charge for bags and noticed a charge on my receipt and I asked why they charged me for a bag and the lady said "it's the law." I said, "Well, I live in VA." I thought she should have asked me even if "it's the law." I was a little grumpy when I said it too. So I told her I didn't want the bag and to refund me the bag charge. Had she asked me about charging me for the bag I would have just let it go and bought it.

Yup! I have a few sturdy ones I made myself out of canvas, and for my job I go to a lot of community outreach events where they give you a bag to hold all the pamphlets and things, but are very sturdy for groceries, too. For each bag you bring my grocery store gives you a discount of 10 cents.
Though I might "forget" the next time we go to the store, we are almost out of plastic bags! We use them as garbage can liners in the bathroom & desk area.

I used to be good about it, but have stopped long ago. If I shop at Aldi, I have to because they don't provide bags unless you purchase one.

Always. I forgot a few times when pregnant (darn that pregnancy brain!) and couldn't believe how many plastic bags we ended up with!

I keep my bags with the grocery cart cover in the van
so its easy to remember.

I do grocery shopping and at CVS, but no where else (we need plastic bag/dog scooping liners!)

I have a stack of bags in my trunk and always forget to bring them in! Bad me!

I do! I've gotten a lot better at remembering them. I think I should start using them when I shop at Target though. I have SO many Target plastic bags.

@caffeinated: Oh man, I hope that was a mistake and not an on-purpose theft.

@caffeinated: WTH?! Bad karma for a wanna-be-green person? Shame on them! Though I have was worried about my "cuter" bags and especially my Trader Joe's cooler bag one when I was in the crazy Thanksgiving crowd last week!

@shopaholic: @woodentulip: They took his cart, which contained the bags. I told him to never leave an empty cart unguarded! I was not happy since he took all of my cute farmer's market bags that i've collected over the years.

I keep my re-usable bags in my diaper bag (they are nice eco-sacks that roll up and have a snap closure) so I always have them with me.

Usually, sometimes I forget but I always keep a few bags in my car.

No, I always forget. I save all of our grocery bags for my best friend who lives in a city where they don't offer bags and you have to pay for them if you need one.

Nope! We like to have the plastic bags for dog poop, so I'm guilty of occasionally double bagging items that don't need it!

Hardly ever, I always forget! I used to be way better at it before LO entered the picture but now I'm always in a rush to leave the house/store.
