I love BSTing on FB boards! I usually resell her clothes after a few wears so it's almost like renting - and I can usually break even on most things

This is a totally new idea to me, but it sounds great! How do you find the best BST sites to join?

@GreenThumb: it's so fun! Dangerous because you'll end up buying a lot, but it's fun to buy gently used and resell when they outgrow There are lots of FB groups depending on the brands you like (ex: Gap/ON, Tea, Boden, Livie and Luca). Try searching the brand plus BST or buy sell trade on FB

Just Tea and a bit of Boden.
(Not to be awkward, but I totally just bought something from you @pinkcupcake: from the Tea Clothing Connection, but I don't think you know me well enough to realize I'm both here and there!)

No - but once DD stops blowing through sizes so fast, I'd be interested in checking it out!

@Mrs.KMM: Ditto this, I follow babywearing BST groups but hadn't thought about it for kids' clothes. Once she is older, maybe. I do think it's amazing, e.g. for Tulas, how people wind up spending zero dollars since they can resell for as much as they paid. It's like a library of fancy lovely things.

@twodoghouse: I just wrote on your wall!
@PawPrints: "library of fancy things" - that's the perfect way to describe it!

I'm really excited to give it a try! I love to have a large selection for LO, but don't really have time or patience to sift through brick and mortar resale shops.

I've used BST groups to buy about 80% of my cloth diaper stash, and local BST groyps for a ton of baby items.
honeydew / 7586 posts
Yes! All the time. I own a children's clothing line and do a lot of trades with other shops so Brady has a ridiculous amount of clothing. I sell more than I buy though.
cantaloupe / 6751 posts
@Ra: I think after about a year of nonstop buying, I'm *finally* in the "selling more than I buy" camp.
pomegranate / 3580 posts
I snoop on our local ones once in a while, but for the most part they're horrible lol. I think it's just our area (small and rural), but I'd be into it if I could find some boards with decent brands or people who are serious about selling and not just trying to make a quick buck selling every sock their kid out grows

You all just opened up a whole new world to me.... I'm a member of a local one, its kind of crappy though. Didn't even realize there was such a thing as specific brands!!
nectarine / 2152 posts
Yup. It's like my hobby. Love me some pre-loved Boden! But it is addictive and I buy way too much!

@Boogs: I searched for whichever brand I was looking for, and asked to be added to closed groups. A few bees who added me to some of the secret groups.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
Haha, no. No one would want to buy the stuff I would have for sale. After my son is through with it, omg, it's rags.

Is there a Zara baby/kids BST? I used to do this on IG but things were getting a little crazy with the auctions, etc.
watermelon / 14467 posts
I used to be on my local ones but they were awful. My life is much better not being surrounded by that drama.
pomelo / 5298 posts
I've sold a lot on our local one. Nothing clothing wise, but a lot of household items and some gear. I'm not patient enough to sell clothing.

@lilyann: There is one on FB. I was a member of one with Zara and a couple other places, maybe Crewcuts. I'm not a member anymore.
pomelo / 5660 posts
@lilyann: There is. There tends to be lots of drama on BST pages though, that's why I'm taking a break.
nectarine / 2878 posts
@BandDmommy: That's what I got tired of on IG too! Those stupid auctions. I just like finding pieces no longer sold in stores because nothing haunts me like clothes I didn't buy
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@twodoghouse: ha ha ha - that's how I "met" @pinkcupcake, too. From selling her something.
I'm all over the BST groups.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@lilyann: ha ha ha - YES. "Nothing haunts me like clothes I didn't buy."
pomelo / 5220 posts
No... and now I'm tempted but I feel like this is a rabbit hole I shouldn't go down... We are on a strict no spending spree!
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@Boogs: yes - but it depends on what you are looking for. The ones I am a part of are pretty specific. I'm in one for Tea, one for Boden, one for Hanna and one local boutique group. I stay away from the big ones and really prefer groups that make you use albums for photos instead of just flooding the page with for sale posts. I quit all of the Gap ones because I couldn't keep up - they moved SO fast.

I just joined FB again just for my local BST and I could only find one. So far the stuff people have in my area is not what I want.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@psw27: it is a terrible rabbit hole. Stay away if you can.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
I'm not looking to now, but did look into some before and they weren't good deals at ALL...like, I could buy things brand new for just a few dollars more...that's not worth it to me. I must have been in the wrong place!
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
Yes, but only local ones and I still don't buy the expensive stuff. I joined a national one a while back for north Face and Patagonia. Most of them wanted a ridiculous amount got used jackets. I could sometimes find a last year's color for the same price with a coupon .
pineapple / 12234 posts
@lilyann: I can add you to Zara/crewcuts! I pretty much ignore the drama and all is good
pomegranate / 3375 posts
I get all of LO's rainboots (we live in Oregon, so we need them year-round) from BST groups on FB.
