It definitely depends on the movie, but I'm so attached to Nemo that I would be heartbroken if they watched Finding Dory with someone else. If there were to be another Toy Story some day, same thing...I would be bummed. So just with certain ones!

Oh yeah, I would be sad if she watched some classic Disney or Pixar movies with someone else for the first time!

I missed LO1's first 3 movie theater movies. DH's family likes movies so he's sort of taken that role. His sister is in on it too. Since LO2 is too young I generally sit it out. However, I refused to miss Finding Dory on our last trip when SIL announced she was taking LO.

No. I feel this way about books, but don't have the same sentimental attachment to any movie I can think of.

Not really. I'm not really into kids movies. I would like to make his first movie theatre experience special, but other than movies are fair game when he is little. There are certain movies as he becomes older that I would prefer he sees with me because I would frame the discussion around the movie in a much more PC/ inclusive way than my family would. "Do The Right Thing" comes to mind.

I probably do care actually, stuff from my own childhood, like Mary Poppins and a few Christmas movies I loved. More modern movies, I probably wouldn't bother about.

Eh. Nah. I did want to be the first to take DD to her first in theater movie (which I did) but other movies I don't really care about her watching it with someone else first. I care more about making sure she isn't watching stuff that is too advanced or that will scare her (which can be totally random- for instance she is scared of cartoon stepmothers but not dinosaurs or live nature shows where animals get eaten)

No, I don't think so. Except if I was excited to see something and someone else took him instead of me. He's only 2 so this isn't really an issue yet.
