I usually just pop my wallet and phone in the diaper bag when we're out and about with our son. But when it's just me running errands, I like to use a purse.
I'm finding that I need a hybrid option, something that can hold a few baby necessities, but still look attractive and not super big.
Do any of your have a purse/handbag/shoulder bag that you love?

I love the 2nd option because we are a timbuk2 family.
We use a tote bag for DD and I do carry a purse just because it is a pain to take things out and put them back. I usually stow my purse under the stroller when we go out.

I carry a purse! I ditched my diaper bag before DS was 1... I just throw in wipes, dipes, and a shirt/shorts in my purse and we're ready to go!

I don't use a diaper bag anymore, but I always carried a purse. Once she got a little older, I would just throw wipes/diaper in my purse and call it good.

I use a small crossbody bag for my wallet, phone, keys etc. I want to have my personal things close to me as the diaper bag is usually in the bottom of the stroller. Once I had my phone in the stroller organizer and someone tried to steal it at Trader Joe's - now it's always in my purse!

I carry a large purse and when DD is with me I throw in a wet bag with cloth diapers and some wipes. And snacks. And a sippy cup.

I carry a diaper bag when out with R. I just throw my phone and wallet in it. I still need it cause we have to bring snacks, toys, diapers, wipes, bib, sippy cup, etc when we are going out to eat.
If it is quick trip to the grocery store, I will throw a diaper and wipes in my handbag.

I carry an Ikabag....I consider it a diaper bag/purse hybrid! I guess I could carry a regular purse now that LO is older but a sippy, snacks, diapers, wipes all take up a lot of space and my normal purses are too small!

I only carry the skip hop pronto changing pad. I put wipes, diapers, and an extra set of clothes in it. My phone and money go in the back pocket of my jeans, and my keys go in the front right pocket of my jeans.
I haven't carried a purse in over 2 years! It's kind of nice. haha

@ashleyt: That's exactly my worry sometimes. When I have my personal items in the diaper bag it feels unsafe. I usually have those things close by. I think I need to go with my gut and find a small crossbody bag for myself. My husband would wonder why the millions of bags that I already have don't work...and I'd have no good answer for him other than, I like buying new handbags

i have a JuJuBe Be Quick that i use as my purse. It has my essentials so I can use it by itself, attach it to the stroller, put it in the diaper bag or my work bag.

Back in the day when I carried a diaper bag, I learned pretty quickly I needed a separate bag for my own stuff. I started using a small crossbody bag.
I like the look of a small crossbody messenger.

Purse. I keep M's diaper bag in the car for most errands. If we're somewhere for a long period of time, I have my purse, and his bag (a backpack) is on the stroller.

I got a bigger wristlet that holds my phone, keys, money/cards, and can hold a little extra (pack of mum-mums, sunglasses (without a case), tissues...) So I usually put that in the diaper bag, but I can take it out on it's own for quick trips or when I'm by myself.
I've started using a non-diaper Le Sport Sac messenger bag lately and it's nice-- lighter weight, crosses over my body, but holds the essentials.
ETA: I'm almost always out with the stroller or the carrier. We don't drive many places, so my emergency diapering stuff goes in the bottom of the stroller, not the car.

I carry the worlds largest diaper bag and throw my stuff, including a camera, in the bag. It's big and heavy.
