Yes! I love a bargain! I started about a year and a half ago. I don't pay for toothpaste, deodorant, floss, pens, paper, and pay VERY little for other things. Saving money in some areas allows me to spend more on things I care about.

Where do you find the coupons? I looked on-line for couponing sites, but they didn't look that good.

I try to! I'm not very diligent in it, but I normally always try to go grocery shopping when my grocery store doubles coupons (Wednesday and Saturday's) I normally try to use 5ish per shopping trip. But like you, I never buy too much of something that I wont use. To me that's just selfish unless you plan to donate it to a shelter or something similar

@Mrs. Sunglasses: yup exactly! I guess I'm just thinking of that extreme couponing show on TLC where they show people buying like 100 bottles of mustard because they have the coupons! There is now way they will use it all before the expiration!

I used to, and I would save 25-50% of my grocery bill with each grocery trip. But since switching to 75% organic, it's nearly impossible to find coupons for the foods I eat now.

I need to learn how to do this, especially for shampoo and body wash. I always look for a sale, but I am not brand loyal and I really would love to get stuff for free if possible.

Any ideas on where to really learn how to do this?

I know there are some websites out there that do the work for you, but I can't for the life of me find them.

I do it when I see come across a coupon but I don't actively look for coupons unless I'm buying things online. I stock up on household items every time I see a good sale though.

Here's my thing (we're moving back to the US at the end of the year)...I really don't care what kinds of body care stuff I use, so I don't want to pay for it if I don't have to, BUT I don't want 100 bottles of ketchup as the trade off, YKWIM?

my question for all the couponers, do you have to order the newspaper? i feel like it would be a waste of money. what are your thoughts?

Ok, another question, who keeps a price comparison book? Is it worth doing for the items you are brand loyal for?

@looch: I only use CVS because I like it the best.. haha. So I purchase if there's a coupon, a sale, and extra bucks. Then I use the extra bucks to pay for the things that don't get me extra bucks.

It never seems worth the effort because I'm also in Canada, and it's a small town with only two grocery stores. I think Safeway doesn't even have coupons, just deals with the card? And the other local grocery store has nice cashiers who just swipe a coupon from the stack when it comes up.
