L is struggling with her morning nap (she's on my bed and I'm folding laundry.) Every so often her eyes pop open and I can tell she's staring at me. I duck out of sight and avoid her gaze.
If I make eye contact with her she'll for sure be up and I have to get stuff done!

Xander's at the point where when he's nursing, he'll pop off to smile up at me. I have to put a burp cloth over his head so he can't see me so that he'll focus on eating!

Yup! I've done that too. Our pediatrician actually mentioned doing it when he was around 6 months and we were having a hard time with naps.

Ha! My LO is WAY too nosy, he would never fall asleep if he could see me! When he was smaller and I had to rock to sleep I would always shut my eyes otherwise all I saw was him grinning at me and staring

Yes! If he's playing with blocks and toys in the living room and I'm picking up around the house, I'll void the room he's in because once he sees me: it's over. He wants me in there for good.

Yup! Like @TurtleDoves M will occasionally play quietly by herself while I do quick chores. If she sees me nearby, that's over!

Sure do! In the exact situation you described above If she sees me she thinks it is time to get up....

Yep! She'll open her eyes and smile at me and then realize she's not in my arms and she's alone in her cosleeper...then it all goes down hill, lol.

Absolutely. I used to look away or close my eyes myself when I was trying to get DD to nap.

hhahaha I used to do this. I would sit in the chair in her room while she fell asleep, and if she tried to peek at me I'd drop to the floor like an action movie. dh thought I was nuts, but I was so sick of running up and down the stairs to replace pacifiers.

Yup. After I put him down for a nap I can't look at him or he'll get upset. I look at the floor as I walk out.

Yepp, just like @turtledoves...If he's playing by himself I have to avoid the area he is in and not look at him because then he won't be satisfied until I'm in there with him!

Oh yes. I made the mistake of making eye contact and smiling the other day after I put her down for a nap and she wailed. That was a rookie move.

haha yes! i mostly hide from her or avoid eye contact when i am eating junk food, i feel bad because she looks at me like "mmm that looks good mommy!" but of course I'm not going to give her ice cream or chips, so now i just hid behind the counter and eat lol

DS naps in the pnp in the living room, we've resorted to covering the mesh part up with a blanket for his mid-nap blinks, so as to not make eye contact w him!
