Tomorrow is my birthday and I had planned to go to the mall and lunch during the day with just DS. I wanted to have a nice day with just me and my little guy. Well my MIL texted me wanting to go to lunch tomorrow and I told her I had plans with someone else.
I feel terrible but I just don't want to go with her. It's been drama central with my inlaws and I just want a nice peaceful day.
Do you ever blow people off? I rarely do so I feel really bad!

Sometimes. Especially if like you said there was recent drama. It's sometimes better to just take your space and not deal with them for a while.

Yep! Although usually I just don't answer the phone, haha. But if I don't want to hang out, I'll say I'm busy or give some excuse. I've definitely done this before.

@MamaJ: You shouldn't feel badly. You didn't lie: you do have plans with someone else - your LO!!! Just don't post any incriminating pictures on instagram or FB so as to not hurt any feelings and then your fine.

Yes. I think blowing people off is a like a white lie because it preserves their feelings. No need to tell someone how you really feel about them all the time.
