I couldn't sleep last night and I stayed up til 3! At some point I went in to "check" on LO2 and I picked her up and held her for a bit...she didn't wake up and I enjoyed the snuggles!
Have you ever done this?

Nooooo! But she still wakes up 1-2x/night, so I don't have a need to go in there again (nor do I want to!). You can come cuddle/feed my baby at 3am if you want some snuggles

Yes, especially before we bought a video monitor! I dd this last night because she was sleeping in a very strange position and looked uncomfortable.

DH does this most nights. He gets home too late to see her in the evenings, so he always sneaks in for sleepy snuggles.

Nope. I don't dare wake her up. We will go in and check on her, but we don't pick her up.

Nope! I might go in and give her a kiss but no way am I picking up a sleeping baby, haha !

i can't even comprehend doing that. it sounds so nice, but my LO is not the best sleeper so i dare not wake him up.

If I thought he wouldn't want up I would, but he's generally a very light sleeper. D goes in and picks him up sometimes, if E's asleep before he gets home and they didn't get any time together in the AM. I just accept that E will wake up...and that D will get him back down

@autumnlove: hahaha yes! DH works a lot of nights, sometimes I grab J and bring him to bed with me.

I usually go in and smooth her hair back from her face and check to make sure she's not right up against the side of the crib before I go to bed. Usually if I have to pick her up to reposition her, she doesn't flinch. Last night — she woke up screaming shortly after I left the room and didn't stop for an hour. I think she's getting a molar in, and it's not being friendly. She woke up again around 1am and screamed for another hour. Part of me wonders if I hadn't picked her up and moved her, would she have just kept sleeping?

I would NEVER!!!! I'd be so terrified to wake her! I don't even go in her room after she's asleep!

Never! The most I do is go in and look at her sleeping or if I think it feels chilly I'll move her blanket around and cover her up better.

Nope but DH does it all the time. As long as he doesn't wake her up I'm cool with it. Just last night he crawled into bed with her for a snuggle after he got home from work.

Nope! DS is not a great sleeper so I let him be when he's sleeping. Bc on the weekends, that means this mommy gets to nap a little too!

@tinyperson: That happened to me last night too! L was on his tummy with his knees tucked under him and his little butt stuck up in the air...but his head was pushed right against the top of the crib, and I knew he'd end up stretching out in his sleep and hitting his head. But when I moved him last night he woke up and got upset, which is unusual. Of course, I made it worse by picking him up for cuddles...that just woke him up more. It was probably a stupid thing for me to do.

Yep, I used to pick her up and rock her all the time. She usually jsut snuggled into me and kept on sleeping. it's the best.

Never!!! I'll go in and check on her but I don't dare wake the sleeping beast!

Never. I don't even go in her room because opening the door wakes her up!

No way! I've gone into his room for things after he's asleep, but have never messed with him.

I never pick her up but I will sneak in and check on her because we don't have a video monitor. Unfortunately, we have an old house and once in awhile the creaky floor or door will wake her up.

@delight: Ya, we don't have a video monitor either....I can't decide if need one!

I did the other morning at 6am, but lo is sick and I didn't see her moving much on the video monitor so I wanted to check her. She must've heard me though because she lifted her head up and looked straight at me. I took her to my bed and we watched sesame street together. I tend not to other nights because it seems she's a light sleeper!

I don't go in just to pick her up - she's too light a sleeper for that. But I sometimes pick her up and give her a cuddle if she's lost her wubbanub even though I know she'll roll over and go back to sleep right away if I just hand it to her. Its the only time she lets me have proper cuddles.
