DH and I are on the phone, but we're not talking. We're just "listening" to each other.
I used to "listen" a lot when I was younger. I think I used to even fall asleep "listening" in college.

Nope. I hate being on the phone, so I usually keep my conversation short. But then again I'm rarely away from hubby so if we were separated that might be different.

When DH and I were dating in college, we used to be on the phone just to listen to each other. We'd talk to each other, but we would also carry on with other people who may be in the room/apt and act as if the other were there too. It helped us feel less separated since we went to different universities and it sucked to be apart.

I'm like Artbee, I dislike being on the phone. i will actaully text the person if possible! So this wouldn't be for me!

I hate being on the phone too, but the guy I dated before DH loved it. So we had a plan where we had unlimited calling minutes to each other anytime, so he would call me and we would both put the phone on speaker as we fell asleep. Kinda lame now that I think about it ;P
Sometimes he would even call me to "listen" while I was in lectures at college. Lol
