I'm interested in this-- if people say yes, at what age would you start?

@Mrs. Pen: I think because he is over a year, and he's just going to get wet, I would in that situation. But, I'm not actually a mom yet so who knows what I'd say this time next year!

@Foodnerd81: I think the first clothes I did it with were 6 months? The first item was a sweatshirt and then I think a onesie followed...just a spiral of bad parenting =P

@Mrs. Pen: He's almost 6 months. Maybe I'm weird though. I won't wear new clothes before they are washed either.

I've never put the kids in unwashed clothes, but I think you should be fine putting the rashguard on him!

We did once at the mall when we had a disposable diaper explosion and it was either put him in an unwashed sleeper or carry him out naked. LO & I both have sensitive skin so I always wash

Yep, I'm guilty of this. DS doesn't like to wait when he gets a cool new shirt with whatever his favorite characters are. He puts it on right away. But, when he was little I washed the clothes to prepare his nursery, but after that, I probably didn't when they were new, unless I got them used.

Sometimes...I get lazy! 9.5 months old.

All the time. I think I stopped pre-washing when he was 6-7 months when I realized he didn't have sensitive skin.

Laundry is my nemesis, if I tried to wash everything before wearing it it would be weeks before any of us got to enjoy our be clothes. I also like the look of new clothes & can tell once they've been washed (like rainbowsprinkles) AND idk why but new clothes pre-wash don't stain as easily.... Something that I really like since G is known for spilling things on himself. Lol. No one here has sensitive skin so it's never been an issue.

yup. i pre washed everything before baby came but now i can't remember to do it. i've done it a bunch of times.

I prewash everything except socks. I don't usually prewash my own stuff though.

I used to but now that L is going to be 2 I rarely do. Partly from laziness and partly because she doesn't have sensitive skin.

I put LO in an unwashed outfit at about 8 months. We were going to a wedding and hadn't gotten an outfit for him, and finally found one just a couple hours before the event so no time to wash. It was the worst kind of outfit too - Burlington Coat Factory, made in China, not at all organic or anything like that. But it was a three-piece suit! It was too cute for him not to wear. I put a onesie underneath to make myself feel better. So I think it's fine to do on occasion!

I did once. We drove 1 1/2 hours to meet friends for dinner and she peed her pants on the way. Of course I forgot a change of clothes, but luckily we were at Disney and there are stores everywhere.
