The only time I sleep next to LO (ie. on the floor beside her crib) is in the morning when it's 6am and she's up but I'm still half asleep dying for a few more minutes (ie. 30 minutes). I'll turn on her watchumacallit (Baby Einstein aquarium soother?) and it'll amaze/entertain her for a few minutes as I lie down on the ground and pass out

No, I haven't yet. I have the same philosophy as @Looch.

We never do. I usually find that he'll settle down within minutes or seconds if we don't go in. But every child is different. If my son cries for a while I'll probably go in to see what's going on, especially if it's unusual for him to cry for so long, especially these days at 33 months old.
