Woke up a while ago and guess I should use the morning wisely. I'll do the dishes and pick up a bit too. I find it kind of a depressing start to the day, but when it happens it really opens up the rest of my day nicely!
Do you ever wake up early and then clean?

About two weeks ago I woke up before LO and DH and had this weird urge to clean (um never happens) I had the whole house clean, including laundry before 11am! It felt AWESOME. I never do that hahaha.
I'm up early today cause I leave for work in 45 minutes

Not really at the moment because of our living arrangements, but I have in the past and probably will do it again when we move in 2 weeks.
I only do this if it's after 4:30 am though. Any earlier and I lay there, tossing and turning.

No. I try to be super quiet if I wake up early so lo stays asleep.

Nope- but I normally stay up really late to get it all clean before bed- best thing is to wake up to a clean house

Yep, since having LO, mornings when he's asleep are cleaning times. DH and I are doing Chore Wars to divide up the load. He's getting into it because it's a competition. Nothing else motivated him to contribute to the household tasks. Winning points seems to help. It's early yet, but it's a start for someone who didn't do many chores as a child.

Yep. T was up at 5:30 but went back to sleep after a bottle. I've been up - got ready for work, had coffee, did the dishes, laundry, tidied, and it's 7:30 and he's still sleeping!

No, it wakes the kids up if I do. So I just stay in bed.

I LOVE waking up early and doing chores, haha. This morning I've already washed dishes (I do this almost every morning) and now I'm going to fold laundry and water plants!

I wish I did! When I do wake up super early, I usually just play on my phone until I absolutely have to get up. I've attempted to get up and clean, but I generally just seem to wander around blankly until I really wake up at 10 am, lol. Also, even if I do get started cleaning, it never seems to work out real well because the kids usually hear me and then get up to demand breakfast and that's the end of that project. And then the day is started. I wish like crazy it worked in our house because I find it really hard to clean when the kids are around.

@Andrea: That used to happen to me! But I put my phone near the kids' door and crank up the white noise app, and they sleep through cleaning now!!

@mrbee: Good idea- except, my kids have never heard a white noise machine and I'm pretty sure that would wake them up too, lol. Mine seem to be the type just looking for any excuse to wake up and start the day. They're generally up by 5:30.

@FarmWifeGina: I turn it on about 20 feet away and slowly walk towards the kids' room... so it doesn't suddenly get loud. Seems to work!

@mrbee: I'll have to try it! Honestly, is do just about anything to get them sleep later. Except for the fact that I'm pretty sure they're getting up so early so they can see their daddy before he leaves the house (because there's a good chance, at this time of year, that it's the only time they'll see him during the day since he very possibly won't be home until after bedtime).

Not normally, but today I actually did...I'm doing a big laundry day today, since we've all been sick this week. DH and DS are back at work/school today, so I'm cleaning all the germs out of this house.

@Andrea: I actually leave the white noise pretty far from the kids' room. It's just to muffle the sounds that I'm making...

@SAHM0811: Sorry for the late reply. Chore Wars is a website where enter chores as "adventures" and earn points for doing chores. It's like Dungeons & Dragons for chores. You set up a family "party" with a number of basic chores as well as ones you can customize for your family. We added picking up toys at the end of the night, cleaning the high chair, washing the bottles, etc.
We've only been doing it for a week, but preliminary results say that the message might be getting to my husband. For the past two days, he's made the bed since he's the last one to leave in the morning. He asked me to add getting gas for the car for an adventure. I was kicking his ass earlier this week, but he's catching up on me. My mom thinks because it's a competition, he doesn't want to be the loser, so he'll work towards more points. More points means cleaning house and him taking ownership for his share of responsibility in our house. At the end of the week/month/quarter, I'm thinking of adding some sort of prize or something like that to further encourage chores.
This coupled with our chore/activity/reminder whiteboard has been helpful in accountability, nagging less, and general responsibility. I've been butting my head against the wall about this for months and months in counseling. No matter what I'd say, it wasn't getting through to him. He wasn't raised to do chores. My MIL goes on and on about his vacuuming to music as a kid. It sounded like the only chore he had. I'm determined to teach my LO and future LO's household responsibility. So far, it's been a start. I really won't declare it a success or failure until our next counseling session in three weeks.

@cascademom: I LOVED Chore wars! I totally forgot about it, I think that maybe I will bring it back since our boys are getting old enough to understand and find it fun!

@.twist.: For my almost 35 year old husband, he's liking it so far. I hope it sticks. I like that we can look at it and say exactly what the other did. It really stops the chore hearsay we had going. Also, I can't "act like a martyr" about the bottles because I get to claim it and take points up for grabs. If it helps our marriage and family, I'm game for it.

@cascademom: We were doing it with a few other couples and it was super fun! Although, at the time I was logging most of Dh's chores, which... should have counted as a chore in and of itself. LOL.

I wish I had the motivation to wake up early and clean. I'm happy to wake up and get myself showered, teeth brushed, and in the car...third trimester exhaustion.

@.twist.: Nice! I like my husband can enter his own chores in and sees what's available to do. If it makes my life easier and him more responsible, I'm game. I know that I can't change him. He has to want to change, but showing him a way to do something like chores has been helpful on the maturity path. With chores, I feel like I'm spending part of my marriage working on getting him to be a better spouse and person as well working out some childhood issues as well.
