I only feed on one side during the day but both sides during LO's last nursing session before bedtime. I try to switch sides after 15-20 minutes.

Always both sides. I could never figure out how to feed on just one side!

The lactation consultant advised to feed on one side and basically drain a boob at a time. That's what I do. If the other feels full I pump.

For most of my BF journey he took only one side and was totally satisfied. I would always offer the other breast if he was awake and he only very rarely wanted it. Towards the very end (the last few months) when I knew I was producing a lot less, I would offer both sides, and he would take it.

I always fed only one side until he got bigger and wanted way more food. Now he drains both boobs.

I think I'm weird. For my first, he happily took one side and I alternated and everything was fine. With my second I expected it to be the same but he expects both boobs everytime. I didn't have supply issues with either so I think it was just preference

@Ms.Badger: I'm the opposite. With my first it was almost always both sides. This time she usually takes one side. I had an oversupply in the beginning though so I had to do some block feeding to get it down to normal anyway. Before bed we do both to get her nice and full.

Both sides every time. Ds is an express eater and is usually done with both in 7 min or less. He's 10 months so he's had plenty of practice.

@Foodnerd81: same as you! First son took both sides, second son takes just one and is gaining more weight, go figure. Also had an oversupply!

I always offer both sides, except for the middle of the night feedings. If she fell asleep after nursing from one side, then I called it good!

During the day, both sides. In the middle of the night, just one, unless she's still upset. For a long while, it was one side, then 15 minutes after she was done she'd want the second side.

She always nursed one boob per session, and I had to remember which side I was on for the next time. Since she's been about a year old though, she has switched back and forth every few seconds like a little pendulum.

From birth she only ever did one side (and fast!). At some point maybe 10-11 months we started doing both sides at night before bed and naps on the weekends.

usually one side per feed, unless its bedtime feed and she is unsettled. then I do right boob first, then left boob as she is easier to transfer to cot from that side.

One side. If she still seems hungry, I'll offer the other side and sometimes she'll take it. We're only 1 month in and I have an oversupply so the lactation consultant recommended one side per feeding to try to decrease it a little bit.

@autumnlove: I do 10-15 on each side, almost every time. The LC said to do that, I thought that was the norm! Hm! His feeding in MOTN sometimes is just one side.

@Ginabean3: If I don't do both I "look" off haha, one boob is SO much bigger!

@autumnlove: just one. Very rarely do I use both in the same session.
@Ginabean3: @pachamama: that's me every morning until 10 ish. I feed her around 6/6:30 and have to wait until she's hungry again to use the other and she hasn't even drained the initial one used. One huge boob and often sore until a few hours later...but it only happens in the mornings.

One side throughout the day. At bedtime I nurse on both sides just so I don't have to pump before I go to bed. In the morning I pump one side and nurse on the other.
