Just curious what AAP recommendations you follow closely, which ones you take as a suggestion and which ones you don't follow at all?
We BF past a year and are hoping to make it two the age of two in a rear facing car seat (but take this one more as a recommendation). Also the no TV for less than age 2 I would like to follow more closely but we don't.

We will keep her seat rear facing but I wasn't able to breastfeed up to a year and she watches TV with us occasionally!

Let's see. I don't follow very many. Does that make me sound horrible? I do plan on extended breastfeeding. And I would like to keep her rear facing as long as possible in her car seat.
But she is a tummy sleeper. I use a bumper.
She uses a light blAnket.
I moved her out of our room before 6 months.
We co sleep half the night.
We do BLW....I am not sure what the AAP recommendations are on solids.
And she sometimes watches TV with us. It is pretty much inevitable since our house is small. When dad is watching tv there is no where else for her to go!

I fed her solids before 6 months.
She sleeps on her belly.
She doesn't get TV time exclusively but she sneaks peeks when we're watching football on Sunday. That's the only time we turn it on when she's around. We don't' let her just sit there and watch it, though.
I plan on letting her self-wean, we'll see how that goes.
We'll do rear-facing car seat as long as possible - I want her to be as safe as possible in the car.

We moved her to her own room at 5.5 months. We didn't start solids until 6 months but we did BLW, she sleeps however she ends up, usually on her side but she has no loose blankets just a sleep sack. We did some co-bedding during her sleep regression too. Its all about staying afloat imo

we did back sleeping until 1, didn't introduce solids until 6 months, and still breastfeeding at 14 months.
other than that, we introduced a lovey around 6 months, use breathable bumpers, the kids watch limited videos, and we forward faced before 2.

I started feeding solids at 4 mths,
only do an am/pm BF- supplement with formula during the day,
moved her into her room at 2 weeks
put bumpers in her bed at 8 weeks
use a blanket on her during naps
sleeps on her belly
watches tv occasionally.

I mostly do, given that I recommend them daily! In fact, I spent my weekend at AAP in Elk Grove, IL.
Having said that, we did co-bed, but I was highly aware of the risks and benefits.

@Mrs. Bee: How did you keep them from rolling over in their sleep? As soon as my son could, he turned over as he was falling asleep. Now he moves all over in the night. He's on his side, tummy, and back at various times (just like mom!)

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Are they supposed to stay in your room for a certain period of time? She was in a PNP in our room for like 4 weeks and then a crib in her room.

we started solids at 4 months, formula fed at 2 weeks(with supplementig before then), he sleeps with a blanket for naps, he sleeps on his belly(and yes i will put him on his belly sometimes), moved in to his own room at 4 months.
we will keep him rear facing as long as possible, but he's on the taller side, so we'll see how that goes.

we started solids at 6 months
No crib bumper and then tried a breathable for a short while
we will keep her rear facing as long as possible
the only thing we didnt follow was we let her sleep on her tummy very early

I started solids a few weeks shy from 6 months, she's been sleeping in her own crib since 3 weeks (to be fair, our bedrooms are a like a step away), we co-sleep from 4am-7am, I plan to breastfeed until 18 months and the car seat will be rear facing until 2.
So I follow them loosely. I think it's best to use common sense and trust your gut with your own child.

Breastfeed until 2 years (we are at 19 months though I am starting to wean).
Rear facing until he just won't fit anymore (which may be a while as he is barely at the weight requirement to turn)
He was tummy sleeping as soon as absolutely possible.
He started solids at 5.5 months
He's been cobedding since he was 6 months old (before that he was in his room but it was miserable)
No crib bumper
He doesn't get more than 2 shots at a time
So ultimately we do what works for us. I think that they are good recommendations but they aren't always feasible.

Rule breaking on the cosleeping, eating solids @ 5 months, screen time. Following the nursing, rear facing, back to sleep..we potty trained on the early side, not sure what they recommend.

I try to follow the AAP recommendations pretty closely, except
1. we introduced solids at 5.5 months
2. We put Toddler X to sleep in his crib on his side, and usually he rolls on to his belly soon after.
3. We co-slept until 4.5/5 months, at which point it was too scary for us so we made a crib only for sleep rule.
We did a lot of BLW, didn't worry about putting off introducing potential allergens, and we're doing some part-time EC too-- don't know if those are mentioned by the AAP though.
