Bee and I don't take the day off but our daycare does, doh!! So, no three-day weekend for us.
Do you get Columbus Day off next Monday?
ps we renamed the Holidays forum as "Holiday/Weekends," since there have been so many threads lately about weekend plans!

We are only off on the bigger holidays, but I did get Labor Day off which was a pleasant surprise. Next holiday off will be Thanksgiving.

I don't, but DH does. We got married Columbus Day weekend and everyone was like, oh, great you have an extra day off, but sadly, not me.

Nope, but my husband does! He and M are going to have a daddy/daughter day. I can't wait to hear how it goes - he has never spent an extended period of time with her without me around.

We used to get it off but 4 years ago my organization changed parent companies so now we get Christmas Eve and the day after Thanksgiving off instead, I much prefer those days to Columbus Day and President's day. However, since I'm on maternity leave I'll technically be "off" for the holiday.

I'm the same as @purrpletulips. I technically get holiday pay for it, but we actually use it to take off the day after Thanksgiving.

Yep! They call it Canadian Thanksgiving up here, but it'll always be Columbus Day to me.

yep! but, i think it's dumb that we get columbus day off. i hate explaining it to my students and having to teach christopher columbus during social studies! i think it would be more appropriate for us to have veterans day off.

Nope! I work for a health system and we technically don't get holidays off, just have to take PTO when we want a day off, and I wouldn't waste one on Columbus Day.
