We didn't and our ped never said anything, but we get a lot of sun, so I didn't really worry about it either.

Yes we do vitamin D drops. The pediatrician recommended it at two weeks. Put a drop on the binkie each morning. Granted we live near Seattle... Not a lot of sunshine, though today has been beautiful.
