I have been looking into the monthly subscription beauty boxes. The one that seems to stand out is Glossy Box. Anyone subscribe to any beauty boxes and willing to share if it's worth it?

I use Ipsy and love it. I have found so many new brands and colors i never would have tried before.

I also get Ipsy--I love it! I figured I'd cancel it if it were a bust but of the 5 monthly items, there are usually 2-3 things I end up using regularly. It's a great way to try new products and more than expected are full-size or larger than sample size.

I have boxycharm and I absolutely love it! I've never been disappointed and you always get over $100 worth of products

I love Birchbox- but after a year and a half I suspended my subscription... So many samples. It's $10 a month and I think there is a waiting list. I found so many great products. It's also nice to have high quality samples to take with me when I travel.

I have ipsy which I only like 1 item every few months. But it's kind of worth it because I never would have bought that 1 item haha. I tried birchbox which I didn't care for.

I had birchbox for a long while and loved it! I too suspended it bc I had accumulated so much, but Im thinking about signing up again!

I also had beauty box a long time ago. Full size products. And I loved it! But after a while I noticed them using the same brands over and over so I cancelled it.

@mediagirl: I had never heard of Ipsy, but it looks great!
@HLK208: Do you not like the items because they are too "out there?" I'm conservative in my makeup but want to try new things...but I know I'm not going to go crazy.
@buttermilk: Did Birchbox send the same type of thing every month so you got too much of the same type of thing?

@Tanjowen: No their stuff was always different and awesome! I just literally had way too many samples at one point and I wasn't going through them fast enough. But it's only $10/mo which is amazing!

I got a birchbox subscription as a gift. I didn't think I'd like it, but I do. The samples are good and I feel like I get a nice variety of things.

@Tanjowen: yep! Blue eye shadow and blackberry lipsticks aren't my thing (despite that I listed my preferences when I signed up)

I didn't think I would like getting a beauty box but reading this post makes me want to try one! My sister gets Birch Box and she recommends it.

I just canceled my Julep subscription (I like the products but NOT worth $25/month). Now you've all piqued my interest with Ipsy (seems more up my alley). Does anyone have a referral code??

I get Birchbox and Glossybox - I like both, but Glossybox is a much better value despite being more expensive. I've never gotten fewer than two full-size products in a Glossybox, and sometimes as many as four. Birchbox is OK but many of the sample sizes are tiny and sometimes I feel like I get the same brands over and over again.

Here's a site that reviews a ton of subscription boxes- beauty and other things.

@snowjewelz: @Anya: Thanks for the links! I told DH I'm going to try Ipsy as my Mother's Day gift, so I'll post what I get!

ok i did way too much research on this tonight. I'm looking for a high end box with more of a focus on makeup.
- Birchbox ($10) tends to lean more towards skin/body/hair care than makeup, but they have an awesome points system for reviews/referrals which you can use towards products. Reviewers complain the samples are small.
- Ipsy is a great value at $10 with more focus on makeup and larger sizes than Birchbox. Every month everything comes in a makeup bag, but the products are not as high end.
- Glossybox is pricier at $21 but you get higher end products and much larger sizes than Birchbox. The beautiful packaging makes it feel like a treat.
- Boxycharm is $21 and offers mostly full-sized products ranging from drugstore to mid-higher end lines. Seems to offer the most value.
- Sample Society ($15) from Beautybar + Allure has larger samples/higher end brands.
I think they all have their merits and I don't know which one to choose!

@Mrs. Bee: Since you love make-up I feel like you would like Glossybox or Sample Society!

@Mrs. Bee: I vote Glossybox since you mentioned the packaging... Getting a pretty box once a month does feel like a real treat

@snowjewelz: i think so too. i just wish there was one with more makeup. skincare i feel like you can't really tell from a small sample since you need to use it longer to see the effects. but makeup is fun to play with!
