There have been many friends that I've been very close to at different points in my life, but I can't say that I have a best female friend. I'm not a very good friend in that I rarely call people or make plans with them. I'm too much of a hermit so my friendships often depend on the other person making a big effort. Horrible I know! I do wish I did have a female best friend though!

I'm in the same boat. My BF moved back to LA so now I don't have a best friend in NYC. We have very good friends here, but I find it hard to commit to plans or call as well, while juggling everything else. I take comfort in knowing that when I do call my BF, we just pick up where we left off.

I do not, I am the same. My husband is my best friend because I just suck at having friends. A while ago I used to try and reach out and make plans with my "friends" but they always bailed so I have given up.

My husband really is my best friend (dorky, maybe!). My sister and I are very close, too. I have two girlfriends that I am really really close with and I would say that they are my "best friends" but I couldn't say who I am closer with as between the two of them.

My best friend is female-like. (He's a big ol' queen:)) Does that count? Lol. I do have really, really close girlfriends, but none of them would I classify as 'my best'.

I had a best friend until a few years ago when we had a big fight and she "broke up" with me. (rolls eyes). then I met my next best friend, but with the distance us now, its harder to maintain, especially since we both have so much going on, but we do our best!

I have a few ladies I would consider "best friends". We may not always have time to spend together, but whenever we talk it's like we were never apart. I think that's the true measure of friendship. Lives get busy, but they never hold it against you

I have two female best friends. We went to college together (one of them was actually the person I was randomly put with as a roommate freshman year and we continued to live together the rest of our time at school) and now all three of our SOs work at the same company. We see each other almost every weekend and e-mail many times daily. We have been through a lot of rough times together and I truly believe we'll be best friends forever.

I do have a girl best friend that I share absolutely everything with. Funny thing is that after I started dating DH I came to realize that DH and her are very similar. They have the same mannerisms and interests, we always joked that I found a male version of her. While DH is also my best friend I know he could care less about things like shopping and gossiping so having her has definitely been a blessing. We won't see eachother for weeks/months at a time and the moment were together it's as if no time has past.

My sister is my female best friends. Honestly, I find it difficult to maintain relationships with woman. Ugh. I wish I was better at it. My best friend is actually a man. He was my bridesman.

I am a hermit too, but my BF has 3 kids under 3, so she doesn't get out much either! We talk all the time though! I also have some REALLY good friends that don't live around me, so we mostly email, FB, text.

I am closest to my husband, but I do have a female best friend. We met when we were 14. She was my first friend at a new school. We live 1000 miles apart now but we talk and text every day.

I have good friends but other than my husband, I don't have a "best friend." I'm usually pretty hermit like too. I'm really bad at emailing and calling and trying to get together. In the past few months, I think I've come out of my shell alittle bit more and am making more of an effort though. It's also hard being in a different country from my friends.

I definitely have female friends that I wish I was closer with, but like you, I do not do very well with keeping up constant communication. My best friend is my cousin, who was my MOH. I wish we lived closer. I am now states away from all my good friends, so now I'm trying to make new local ones.

I have a female best friend but she lives in Maryland. I talk to her here and there but we're always there if we really need each other. I find it hard to find women friends who I understand. I have a few good girlfriends here but no one who I feel would put it all out there for me. I find a lot of people to be weird, i just don't get them. The biggest thing is lying. I can't trust people who lie and so many women seem to have this problem!!

I do but she lives in SF and we haven't been in the same city since we went to high school together. However, we still consider ourselves best friends and see each other in person at least once a year. The rest of the time it is just email.

I have a very good friend (female) and we've never really verbalized we are best friends but I would tend to think so. Even if we don't talk on a daily or weekly basis it's always great to catch up and she's even going to be the godmother of baby2. so that means alot (to me and to her)

the girls and I use to hang out with are on a different stage of life than me. None of them are married or have babies so we don't really relate to each other any more. It makes me sad but it is life. I feel like eventually I'll make more mommy friends.

I have two female best friends, although I fluxuate which one I'm closer too, haha. Currently it's the one with a child, since I have baby-fever. When I was getting married, it was the one that was also getting married, haha.
I love having a female best friend. We talk about our boys and it's nice to have someone who's been through the same things and has the same understanding.

I am lucky enough to have close girlfriends that are like sisters to me. As per "best friend," in the stereotypical term; my MOH and BFF disappeared out of our lives with no reason about a year ago. So technically, no.

Of all my girlfriends, I have two different friends from two different groups of friends with whom I'm closest to. I'm also a hermit and prefer to hang out with my hubs at home and LO.
If I need a girls night, I definitely have people to call.
I don't really wish I had a BFF, I like what I have right now.

I do have a female best friend but she lives 3 hours away from me. We talk on the phone, text and email regularly to stay in contact. My husband is best friends with her husband so it works out really really well if we go up there for a weekend or they come to us.

I have a few girlfriends that I'd consider my best friends. One of them lives close and we see each other often, the other 2 girls I've known forever and although we don't live in the same city, or province, we still keep in touch and tell each other everything and see eachother when we can.

I didn't have a best friend until recently. I always had a few close friends, but I seemed to always be more "attached" to the friendships than the other girls, which left me feeling hurt. I'm the first of my friends from high school to get married, so I often feel like we can't relate to each other as much anymore.
However, about a year and a half ago I met a girl and we just clicked. She married one of DH's cousins and we are very close. Last weekend, she called me to tell me she was pregnant!! She has been TTC since her wedding this summer! She told me the day after she took the test, after she told her husband and her sister. I feel very blessed to finally have someone I'd consider a "best friend."

I have a few groups of close friends, but no single bestest friend since high school. With all of the moving and different places in life, its been a while for me.
I would have to go with my husband being my best friend since he is the first and only one I go to when I'm happy/sad/etc. Aside from him, I'd have to agree with the hermit feeling. I'm trying to be less anti-social, but like you said, it usually involves big effort on anothers' part.

I have two female BFFs-- both from high school (one from marching band, the other from ASB/choir-- can't you tell I was one of the "cool" kids? LOL). I see my marching band friend (she was also my MOH) pretty often, and I see my ASB friend once a month. She lives in LA, I live in OC; although it's only 20 miles away, it's a pain for us to meet up!

I'm blessed with 4 female best friends. I can pick up the phone and call any of them at any minute to chat. 3 were bridesmaids in my wedding & have known since elementary school. The fourth I met in high school. We have all grown up and wath not, but we make it a point to stay in touch with each other, this friendship means the world to all of us. I'm exteremly lucky to have them.

My husband is my overall best friend. Lately I havent had many female friends in my life, but I am very close to my mum and I would say she is my female best friend. I am also very close to my sisters.

I have 4 very close friends that are my best friends (5 of us altogether). We all grew up together since we were 12 years old and hang out usually monthly (go out to dinner, watch a movie, or concert). We're all SO different but growing up together made us all have that in common. We always talk about whether we would all be best friends if we met now (vs. when we were 12 years old). And we agreed that we probably wouldn't because we're all so different. It's amazing what history can do for friendships. At some point in our lives, one of us has fought with another and lost touch. But we always end up gettting back together. We've fought about boys, family, money, boys and more boys (ugh...those boys!). But at the end, friendship prevails all!

Same here Mrs. Bee! I would say my sisters are my best friends, but I don't call them every day and share every aspect of my life like a conventional best friend.
I also don't have that CIRCLE OF BEST GIRLS like Sex and the City. All my close girl friends don't even know each other. Sometimes, I think we buy into the hype that we're suppose to have a close circle of best girl friends who are also best friends with one another and if our friendships don't look like that we begin to feel like there's something wrong with us. I dunno, that's how I feel sometimes.

I don't, really. I would call my two roommates from college my best friends - they were in my wedding - but we've grown apart. I would like a close female friend, but I am good with my DH being my best friend.
