My LO is 6 months old and she has two bottom teeth. She bites me so much during nursing sessions...my other daughter had more teeth at this age and biting wasn't an issue!
How do you deal with your biter?

Miss A has gone through several biting phases but seems to have moved on which is a good thing because at thirteen months she has sixteen teeth!!
I would pinch her nose to unlatch her and drop her in the cot for a few minutes of "timeout" so to speak. I also made sure she was really hungry by not offering for her usual "snack" feeds.

LO is 12 weeks and is a gummy chewer. I've been wondering how it will be once his teeth come in and if this is an indicator that he'll be a biter. I'm a bit terrified. Just how terrible is it?

@ZombieBullfrogHoller: she clamps down and shakes her head and laughs! So painful!

I had her bite me two times in a row and it was when we were side lying in bed. It was almost like she thought we were playing. I said no! Loudly and I think it freaked her out but she did it again so I sat up and we nursed "properly." Now I just try to recognize when she's not eating toward the end of a session and she hasn't bit me since.

Mine tends to do it when he's fussy towards the end if a session. It hurts but it isn't horrific. I yell and pull him off. I tell him no sternly but I don't know how much he gets that. He has 4 teeth currently.

LO went through a biting phase for a week or 2. It was a couple of months after she got her bottom 2 teeth (probably around 6 months as well), so I'm not sure why it suddenly happened, but she was more likely to bite if she was impatient. And it was harder for me to let down because I was scared of getting bitten, which made her even more impatient! Anyway, if/when she bit me, I would pop my finger into the side of her mouth and get her off really quickly, then say "NO BITING" really sternly, then flick her cheek with my finger and wait a minute before letting her keep eating. (not hard enough to hurt...actually she usually thought it was funny, which was not the goal...) Hasn't been a problem since and that was a couple of months ago. But ugh, I feel your pain and hope it passes soon!
