We only have a desktop at our house. Neither of us have laptops anymore. Our computer is in the study, which is located off our bedroom. It's pretty quiet back here. It's nice when I'm writing, but can get kind of lonely other times.

We have a desktop but we hardly ever use it. We use our laptop most of the time.

I'm the same as @Running Elley: . We have a desktop, but never turn it on. We turn on our iPad first and if something can't be viewed on the iPad, we turn on the laptop.

Yes, I work from home and it is much better to use a desktop with dual screens.

I have a laptop, but DH has a desktop. He's a gamer, and I guess the games he plays are better on it? I don't really know, but he loves it and has no interest in a laptop.

I have two laptops (personal and work) but recently got an apple mini (desktop) for personal. My macbook is now used to stream online items to my TV and be portable when I travel.
My macbook has done a great job these last 5 years and it's still going good except for the lack of storage. So it is time for my macbook to take a break and retire.

We have a desktop with dual monitors that DH recently built himself. I use it the most, mainly to browse online and edit photos. In addition to that we have 5 laptops, 2 of which we use on a normal basis. Umm... yeah and 2 tablets. Can you tell DH works in IT?

yes, in the basement, but we haven't used it since moving it down there. (office was transformed into the nursery a couple months ago.) We use the iPad for pretty much everything.

we have an imac desktop, but almost never use it. it's kind of old now & my macbook pro looks so much nicer =) but i do think that having a laptop makes it too easy to access a computer all the time which i view as a bad thing, a bad thing i'm totally guilty of! the desk top seems more focused
