We do currently in our apartment, but we are moving in a few weeks and the house doesn't have a dishwasher, I hope I can survive for a while without one

This is a non-negotiable for us.... a dishwasher saved our marriage. If the house we bought didn't have one, we would have installed it within weeks of moving in because we bicker WAAAYY too much about dishes.

Yes, we have one. I couldn't survive without it.

Yep! We didn't in our last house and used paper plates all the time unless we had company (lazy much?). Glad we don't have to do that anymore!

Yeah, but dishes seem to come out dirtier than when they went in...it's a glorified drying rack now.

Yes. DH lived in an apartment without one and he just started using paper plates and cups because it was such a pain to wash them. He wasn't good at remembering it nod I would do it whenever I was down there, but that was every couple of weeks.

@mrs. bird: There is space to put a normal one, but there is too much space (there used to be a washer and dryer there), so I think it would look funny...unless I can figure out a way for it to look ok, then we will have to wait a year or two until we can remodel the kitchen.

Yep but sometimes I don't use it. I grew up mostly without a dishwasher so it doesn't bother me to just do the dishes.

In the ~10 years since moving out of my parents house after high school, I've only have a dishwasher for one of those years. We've moved about 5 times, but never seem to pick a place with one (we've only rented). I would LOVE to have one, but it just hasn't worked out, so far.

Yes. We didn't before we lived in this house. I couldn't imagine not having one again.
