DH is my best friend. My sister is a really close 2nd.

I do. We grew up across the street from each other. She's actually 9 years older than I am and babysat for me when I was little. She's really the only friend I have who has been a part of my life forever. It's awesome that she's older than me too because it's like having a best friend and a big sister all rolled into one. And she has two older sisters who are also like sisters to me so I'm really lucky.

But we do live a loooong way away from each other and that's hard. Hubs is definitely my best friend locally : ) I do go to him with everything. But sometimes it's nice to have someone else to vent to when he's being annoying!

The hubby is my #1 best friend, but I do have gf that I email every other day and tell her pretty much everything! She's more like an older sister.

My best friend is a guy. I have a close group of female friends (a group of six couples who are all friends, and I'm especially close to the girls), but I couldn't really pick out one of them as a best friend. They kind of collectively serve as a female best friend. Plus I'm really close to a group of girls at work, but there's not really one that stands out. When it comes to a single person that I spill all my secrets too and who knows me best, it's a guy.
I don't really think of DH as a "friend" or "best friend." He's my husband, and it's just different. I don't really see his role as being that similar to that of my friends, and I rely on them for different things.

I do. We've been friends since elementary school. She's moving to Texas soon, so I'm not sure how that will affect our friendship.

I do now. I didn't for the longest time- I had close female friends, but never any I would call a "best friend."

I met my best friend through DH's family. She started dating his cousin and they ended up getting married 2 weeks after us, so she's kinda my cousin (in law) now she has a 5 year old son and she's pregnant again, so I'm super excited that our kids will be cousins.

A best friend is someone I can talk to about pooping. So DH doesn't qualify. I have a couple of female best friends.

DH is my best friend also. I have a good friend who was my MOH in my wedding but we only see each other every few months and I'm positive her SO is her best friend too. When it comes to hanging out with her, I'd pick DH. I have 3 sisters who I consider my best friend's but DH and I are still closer.

DH is my best friend--there's no comparing to the closeness I share with my husband. But I'm also really lucky to have three great sisters, and three longtime friends who I've known since preschool.

It's kind of unfair to label any of the relationships the "best." They're all really important! My sisters are my support; we journey through life together, and understand each other in this priceless way. Sisters automatically understand your quirks and past. They get it, even when you can't describe it.

My longtime friends have made my life so much more fun, interesting, and enjoyable. They bring unique perspectives while still having compatible personalities. They make me think and laugh!

@mrs. wagon: I have the same issue with making new girl friends. I've always found it a lot easier to befriend guys...there's no constantly lurking fear of competition or cattiness.

I do, but I feel like we're growing apart, especially now that Hubs and I are trying to start a family and she's not looking towards marriage or family for a while. Also, we're about 7 hours apart.

I do and we were MOH for each other but we live on opposite ends of the country so I can't say that we know everything about each other and we mostly email. However, while my other friendships have come and gone, ours has been constant since we were 13. However, DH is definitely my best friend and no other relationship really comes close.
