Do you have one and do you think it is necessary? Our house we are getting does not have one, but our apartment now has one...I am trying to think if it is something we could really do without.

Our house doesn't have one and the next house doesn't have one but I'm hoping once we redo the kitchen, we can add one. My parents have one at their house and I got spoiled on it.

Our dog. LOL.
but no, we don't have one. I've never found a need for one. Although, I've also never had one so maybe I don't know what I'm missing!

we have one & i am very grateful for is as i hate food in the trash, stinky! i am not positive, but i think it you have a well you can't have a garbage disposal, or at least that's why we didn't have one in the house i lived in when i was little. now, i couldn't imagine not having one!

We installed a heavy duty disposal (the existing one was pretty weak) but I prefer to bag up food scraps and throw them in the trash.

i love having one... i had an idiot roommate who poured a whole bowl of soggy cereal down the drain and we didnt have a disposal... guess who had to fish that out when i found it a couple hours later

We have one, and I hate it. I can't wait to have it taken out! I prefer to compost anyway, and I've read that the food material isn't good for the treatment plants.

We have one now since the house came with it. DH hates them. We didn't have one in the condo, I didn't think it was a big deal.
We used this to catch food, so it was easy to clean out the sink.

We have one but rarely use it. I don't think it's bad to live in a place without one.

I grew up with one so I prefer it. Our current apartment doesn't have one and the future condo doesn't either. I might see if we can install one in the condo though. If not, oh well.

Our old house had one, which was fine until we broke it by using it too much (apparently you're not suppose to put coffee grounds in them). Our new house has a well/septic system so we can't have one. I don't miss it at all!

We have one but have been warned to not use it. Apparently the plumbing in this building isn't the best on the first floor so if we use it on the third floor, it risks backing up on the people two floors below us.

We have one at our current rental and I love having it but I probably could do without it if I had to. I grew up with one but DH didn't and he loves having one more than I do.

We have one, I use it all the time. I've never not had one, so I don't think I could do without!

It's like a GPS... Never thought I needed one... Nor did I want one... Until I got one... Now I can't live w/o it....

We have one and I love it BUT we've had two of them get jammed in the last year alone.

It depends on how much you want to chuck down the drain. I didn't have one until we moved into our current house and don't think it was a big deal not to have.
