Let's just define grinch as a crabby and negative person whose sole purpose seems to be to complain and to steal your (and other people's) happiness.
Do you have a grinch in your life?

Yes. There's a lady that is in the "friend group" that never has anything good or positive to talk about. Then if she's not the center of attention, well, she gets upset. And this person is in her 40's so its not an age thing, that's for sure.

Yes. Unfortunately he's become so grinchy that he doesn't hang out with anybody anymore. Good because he's not there to steal our happiness, but bad because he's put himself into a major depression

Mmm not to that extent. My dad is an amazing person and we all love him but he does let things get him down that he shouldn't and will often "go off" on these things. But not because he wants to steal our happiness but because he doesn't think we take those things seriously... well, I don't. My sibs do though.

I can't think of anyone right now, we've pretty much cut those people out of our lives.

Oh yes, my aunt from my dad's side of the family. I try to avoid her at all costs.

Mhmm....there is one person who is a close friend of one of my good friends, so we always see each other. I don't think anything positive, uplifting or supportive has ever come out of her mouth!

I work with someone who obviously hates the organisation we work for because he moans about it constantly and comes up with all kinds of conspiracy theories, imagining all kinds of underhand tactics, and twists facts so that they back up his crazy ideas. I'd find it funny, only his negativity breeds negativity and, when he's in the office, everyone is miserable.

I actually don't have anyone in my life like that! Hopefully I'm not the grinch in anyone else's life though.

I had a few acquaintance friends that were constantly Negative Nellys about everything and everyone. Needless to say, they're not a part of my life anymore.
FIL can be sarcastic and negative nelly sometimes but I think it's more his old school nature than him intending to be abrasive or negative.
