I've been meaning to go to the dermatologist and get my moles checked out forever. I was just looking in the mirror and realized that wow I have a lot of new moles!
Are you diligent about getting your moles checked every year?

I only ever got mine checked once, guess I should go again soon. I have a large mole/birthmark on my leg which doesn't SEEM to have changed, but should be checked regularly.

I don't have any, but I have a skin tag (pre-TTC). I still need to get it lanced. I've avoided it for awhile.

I've gotten a lot of new moles around the base of my neck in the past few years. I get them checked once every year. I've had two removed just because they were itchy.

I get "tags", moles that get bigger because of constant rubbing by bra straps or shirts. I have to get them checked every year as there is a family history of cancer, so better safe thatn sorry. I waited on a few and regreted that decision when taking them off they had to go deeper and more intrusive.

I've just been thinking about this! I don't have a ton, but I've had a lot of sun exposure so I get nervous about it. I've done the dermo full body skin exam twice but the last time was 3 years ago so it's definitely time to go again.

I'm fair skinned and have tons of moles. It amazes me how many new ones pop up. I keep a close watch on them to make sure they don't change shape or color. I've had a couple removed and a biopsy done before. I actually have a few that I really like and I would miss them if I ever needed to get them removed.

I have a lot of little, faint moles on my face - an ex-boyfriend of mine once said, "It's like a constellation!" I cried.
Anyway, I have a bigger mole on my abdomen that became 3D when I was pregnant. Worried, I asked my OB about it and (ugh, I'm so embarrassed to say) it turned out to be an "accessory nipple" (ie. third nipple - as in Chandler Bing).
I'm getting it removed as soon as I can.

I don't have any, but my husband does and they worry me sometimes. We'll get them all checked out in the Summer when we're back in the USA.

I have a ton, and I have them checked every 6 months...I had three removed last winter because they looked "abnormal". You should definitely be getting regular skin checks!

I am VERY moley. I had two removed when I was in junior high and keep an eye out for changing ones. When I was in college I actually had a big-ish mole that was on my face basically eat itself and disappear. I was convinced it was cancer or something, but the doctor said it was a weird type of reaction where my body decided that the pigmentation was disease and started attacking it. Now there's a faint white spot.
Earlier this week I had DH look at a mole under my boob. I wasn't sure if it was new or I just hadn't noticed it before. He said it wasn't new I was just noticing it because my breasts have gotten so darn big!

I have a lot of moles, and I have also had 3 that were cancer, so yes, I go to the dr a lot to get them checked out! Although because of that reason, I do dread going it. It seems like every time I go, I have a new cancerous one. I actually have a couple that are pretty bad right now, but I think I will wait until after DD is born to go in....

I have a few moles, but I am fair-skinned. Skin cancer runs heavily in my family (3 out of 4 of my grandparents have had melanoma). Also, DH's grandmother passed away 2 weeks before our wedding from cancer that started out as skin cancer and then spread. Needless to say, I got checked out this year and had to have a mole removed about 6 weeks ago. Everthing came back normal, but I'm so glad I got checked and will be getting checked each year. I was very close to DH's grandmother and it was seriously a wake-up call, as I used to tan (outdoors and in tanning bed) a lot. Now I feel like its definitely NOT worth it!

@Mrs. Bee: DH has a lot of moles and sees his dermatologist regularly. He's also had several removed in the last couple years "just in case," because they were larger in size. He is definitely careful about sun protection during the summers and I've become more conscious about sun care as well.

I'm not but my husband goes to the dermatogolist every year. He's always coming back with a few things removed. He also gets an annual physical every year... he's just better at going to the doctor in general than I am.

I get a few more moles each year on my face. Concealer is my friend. Has anyone tried Clinique Dark Spot Corrector? I think Garnier has one too. I bought the Clinique one and tried it for a couple of weeks, but all it did was break the skin and create big wounds that took weeks to heal. Yikes! The counter lady actually warned me that I should buy the strong SPF that goes over it, but I didn't want to spend another $40 so I skipped it. thinking my daily SPF moisturizer plus my SPF foundation would be enough, but it looks like it wasn't. Anyone else have experience with dark spot correctors?

I've just noticed that I have a lot more than I used to. I have my first dermatology appointment in January. They do a full body scan to check every mole on your body. My dermatologist actually said it would be good to do it while pregnant because it helps highlight some moles better. Ha!

I have quite a few on my chest and shoulders - except I always called them freckles. (I do realize there is a difference between moles and freckles, but they were small and I think the word mole is gross so I called them freckles instead). Last January I started seeing a new dr. and he was concerned about a mole on my chest (it was small, but had irregular borders) so I had to have it removed. The biopsy came back abnormal so I had a couple more removed. Now I go back every couple months to have my moles checked and have to be real strict about being in the sun.

I have billions! I even got one removed from my chin when I was around 18 years old. Not because I had to but because it made me pretty self conscious. It was about the size of a hole punch hole! Ive never gotten any of them checked out because they dont seem abnormal.

I don't have too many, but I definitely got more after having my baby! I'm gonna have a few little ones removed from my face next time I'm in LA! It costs $5/mole to remove.

I do have moles and have had one removed because it looked suspicious. I wish I didn't have so many moles though. I think it makes my face look dirty.
