Yes I have a password on my iphone but i hate it! But it is necessary since I have work email on my phone.
It is a total necessity to have the GPS tracking like "find my iphone" etc, installed on the phone. My FSIL's mother had her iphone stolen, and my brother and FSIL went and found the perpetrator and got it back!

No password but I have a service that will locate it or shut it down for me if I lose it. ETA: I used that service one time when I lost my phone in my hotel room's sheets.....

I have a password because my work requires it (and they pay for my data plan so I have to comply). I do not have a tracking app.

No password because one of the big keys on the password screen is to call 911. My little one likes to play with my phone and I'd rather he delete apps than call 911. With my new phone we have the tracking (Find my phone) turned on.

I don't have a password and I don't think they're always a good thing--I have found at least 2 phones that were password-protected and I couldn't get in to call anyone and let them know where it was!

I have a password to keep DH off my phone. Too many Christmas lists, baby name lists, and weight charts I do not want him to see. If someone steals it I would just call my phone company and cancel that phone and buy a new one.

I have a password but no tracking app -- but I'm downloading one now 
I have a lot of banking apps and stuff on my phone and I don't know how savvy any thieves might be for cracking those codes, so better safe than sorry.

No password or tracking as of now... guess I should get on it! I initially set a password but it was SUCH a pain! Especially because I'm on my phone ALL the time.
