Wondering if its worth the money to buy one. it would be useful to Put P in it with his toys while im doing stuff but I don't know if its worth dropping serious cash over it, ya know?
anyone have one? In your opinion, is it worth it? and how long can you use them for?

Yes, and it has definitely been worth it!! We used it as a play yard for awhile and then made it more of a fence/gate as she got bored of being in there!

this is the one I was looking at since I had a 20% off coupon but like you, but sure it's its worth it.
the only hazard in the living room will probably be couches and outlets so wondering if just gates will be enough

No... I just let LO roam...we did buy baby gates to close off our play area but I can count on one hand how many times we actually used them...not sure what that says about me

We had a little fenced in area in our house for a month or two. It was great while it lasted but as soon as she could pull to stand, she would grab the fence and shake and scream to be let out.

We used a storage ottoman and diaper boxes for awhile to block him into his play area. I also have step over door gates that we sometimes put in the doorway of his nursery to keep him in there. Our nursery is baby proof though. We've just baby proofed the house as much as we can and usually just let him roam around in the room that we're in.

@stargal: we have the same gates as @wheres_c . Our house is impossible to baby proof - it's loft style with overlooking balconies and wide set open iron rails. He's 19 months and is learning how to get around but we still use the play yard (we actually bought two & connected them)
