This is a spin-off on Blackbird's thread on getting netflix for maternity leave.
Yeah, I'm not pregnant but when I do get pregnant, I'm going to probably splurge on an ipad.
Seems like something really useful to have, so you don't have be at a desk to use your computer.

Get the newest iPad too, so you can use the camera! (The iPad 2 has an awful camera, better for skyping than keeping photos).

Yes, I bought an iPad a couple weeks postpartum. It's awesome! I was on it all the time during my mat leave.

I almost consider an iPad (or tablet or super smart phone) a must have baby item. I would have never survived the hours I spent holding baby while he napped without one.
Oh and I used BabyConnect to track feedings, diapers and sleep.

I LOVE having my iPad while nursing. I haven't opened my laptop since she was born. It's a luxury, but so so nice to have. I sit and catch up on emails, Netflix, HB, etc. while she eats.

My husband got me an iPad as a push present for nursing. It was too hard to do Internet stuff with a bulky laptop.

LOVED having it while on maternity leave! So multi-functional (watch tv, read, email, take pictures, etc) while baby was feeding or sleeping or just hanging out in my arms.

Pregnant now and just ordered an ipad mini (so I can hold it with one hand)...can't wait for it to get here!

I have an iPad, but I had it before pregnancy. It was just an added bonus pp! I love the Kindle app and streaming tv/movies.

My husband bought me one for my birthday when I was pregnant, it was fabulous to have. I have the 3rd one, I believe htey came out with a new one today. The 3rd one's camera is pretty good, and the video camera is nice to catch quick videos!

No, but I have a Kindle and I'm hoping to get a laptop before LO comes so it's easier to do homework/nurse at the same time lol

I have a galaxy note tablet but I prefer using my laptop if I have LO in my arms, because the laptop can be propped up for one handed use easier than the tablet

@blackbird: I was pleasantly surprised how much I like it. I fought for the longest time against getting a tablet since it seemed like everyone had one. When I was pregnant, we didn't have a need, but on maternity leave with a baby on the boob, the need was there. I'm definitely a convert to it. My husband nicknamed it the "Babytop."

I'm on the ipad all the time...It's so handy while you have a baby on the boob or asleep on some part of your body:)
I used the regular macbook the other day and having to CLICK on things was exhausting! I am spoiled now:).
Oh and we got the bluetooth keyboard that the ipad props into for when I need to type more than a few words and I love it.

I got an iPad mini for Christmas, and I think it's going to come in handy when I'm couch-bound. I mainly got it so my husband and I could Facetime when he's traveling, but since getting it, I have only touched my laptop twice.

Oh and with Amazon Prime membership, we get all these free TV series and movies with the Amazon video app on the ipad and I really like that too. I just finished Season 1 of American Horror Story, tried watching Downtown Abbey but couldn't get into it! And now I'm watching episodes of Nashville! Love the Pad!
