Do you have any grey hairs, yet?

Ugh - I have a ton and have since my early 20's. And of course they're mostly clusters right in front! I get my hair dyed and do touch ups in between salon visits. My husband does not have one gray hair and likes to rub it in!

@fancyfunction: hubs used to tease me, now his hair is thinning. Not so funny anymore, is it?!

Oh yeah! I feel like I sprouted quite a few new ones since giving birth. I'm almost 33, so it's only fair. I hope I can avoid coloring my hair for awhile.

My grays really annoy me! I go to the salon every 3 weeks to get it colored at the roots then a full session every couple of months.

I started getting them in my 20s, don't really remember exactly when though. I was plucking them out for a long time, but I started getting a big patch in my bangs and the plucking was making too big of a hole. I started dying it myself when I lived in an apartment, but I'd always make a giant mess. Once I moved to a brand new house I was too scared to do it myself, so I get it professionally done every 7 weeks.

To me, the cost is totally worth it. Plus DH's several years younger than me, so I figure I need to look young to keep up with him :D.

@ShootingStar: I agree that the cost is worth every penny! When we outlined our budget, my hair dye sessions were a must. I can give up some splurges but not my hair coloring sessions.

@fancyfunction: I went gray very early too (in my early twenties). The clusters were always hidden underneath. Now they are at the very top so can't be hidden anymore.

I'm so emabarassed to admit this, but my hair lady has found one grey hair at each of my last two hair appointments. We scream when she pulls them out! They are a different texture. For some reason, I have NO desire to even tell my guy about this. I'm keeping this one secret for as long as I can! He, on the other hand, has about 100 grey hairs. He blames them all on me. I tend to agree that I'm at fault. He shaves his head with a 0 or 1 clip so they never are a big deal. Not that grey hair should ever be big deal...

ETA: @Kimberlybee: Hair color is and always will be in our monthly budget!

Tons of greys here I have to color it or I would be practically silver. Such an (expensive) pain in my butt.

I found my first white hair at 26 and have been getting steadily more ever since--I just turned 35 and have a ton now, especially all around my hairline. My mom went silver by 45 so I'm guessing they're going to come fast and furious now.

I don't mind them much; in fact they help me stretch my time between highlighting appointments as they really blend my roots. Their texture is annoying though, as they don't lay with my curls or follow the curl pattern, so they mean that I end up wearing my hair straight more often, which is much more time-consuming.

That said, I feel lucky for every day I'm given on this beautiful planet and for every white hair that I've been lucky enough to have been given a chance to accumulate. I was fortunate to have a very serious health scare in my late 20s, which has given me such an appreciation for growing older (in that I learned first-hand that being able to do so is not a given). Wrinkles and white hairs make me smile (even while acknowledging that they can be annoying) thanks to that experience--they can remind us of all the precious days we've been given.
