We eat pork and sauerkraut on new year's day for good luck. Do you have any new year's day traditions?

We celebrate with our friends who are Japanese. If I understand correctly, New Years is really important in Japan.

Black-eyed peas and cabbage for luck and money but I nixed the cabbage because DH hates it.

I make dduk guk, which is Korean rice cake soup, traditionally eaten on NY day.

My husband and I just decided to start a new tradition: chicken and waffles for lunch. Yum!

Growing up, my dad made sure we ate black eyed peas and that we ran a load of laundry that has something from each of us in the load. He was from the south and these were traditions he grew up with.

We always watch the Rose Parade and eat an awesome brunch at my mom's house! I made monkey bread this year and it was great.
