We just took ours down today! No more baby gates!!!!
We only had one gate going down to the family room. DD2, 19m, is very good at going up and down. The lip of the gate seems to be more of a hinderance / trip hazard than anything!

We have one between the family room and the kitchen. One came with the house at the top of the steps but we don't use it yet. DD just started crawling yesterday so we have a while tobgo with them.
We have one of these. It really helps with the tripping!

Only at the top of the stairs that go from our upstairs floor (kitchen/family room) to our downstairs floor (bedrooms...yes I realize that's weird; it's a brownstone split into two 2-story apartments). Honestly I'm not sure why I keep it up since both girls are good on the stairs...just so I can contain them somewhat, I guess!

Yes, and we'll probably have them for a few more years since we're trying for another LO.

Nope. We only ever had one, so we could unload the dishwasher/let the dog eat in peace without a small wlone crawling in the kitchen. We don't have stairs, but we never had them growing up, either

During the daytime, no. But I put it up at night so she can't go wandering downstairs early in the morning if she wakes up before us. I also put it back up if I have a shower when hubby is away since I KNOW she is awake, and I don't want her wandering around the house she I can't hear her .
She's 4.

We have one at the top of the upstairs stairs, there is a door at the top of the basement stairs.
I use it to keep him upstairs in the morning when we are getting ready.

Nope. We don't have any stairs inside, have a small house, and keep the bedroom doors closed most of the time to keep cats out of beds. So the living space is just kitchen and dining combo and living room, and I want kiddo in my sight anyway. She's 7 months, has been crawling for a month, and we've fine without gates so far.

Yep, between our kitchen and dining/living room area. Our kitchen is too small and it's just not safe to have her in there all the time. Plus it gives the dog a chance to eat without being bothered.

Yep. I don't want them down ever. We have a huge flight of hardwood stairs wth tile at the bottom. It would be such a bad fall!

Yes, one in the hall to stop her opening the front door (she loves escaping) and going up the stairs alone, and one at the top of the stairs.

We do - we haven't used them in a long time but I figure there's no point in taking them down now because we'll need them again in a few months when W figures out how to crawl.

We do, at the top of the stairs to the entryway... at this point they're more for my dog than my 3yo. He's a runner, so we like to keep access to the front door gated. We won't remove them for a while, especially with baby #2 due soon!

We definitely will for a while, esp since we plan to have #2 next year.
