I just signed up for the week trial of Hulu+ only for the sole purpose of watching Season 2 of Scandal. I saw the first season on Netflix and got hooked.
What else is so great about Hulu+? Is it worth keeping? Otherwise, I'm going to zoom through Scandal and cancel!

We don't have regular TV so we use it to watch current shows we want to keep up with. It's a must for us!
Since it's summer the only thing we're watching is Master Chef, but in the fall we watch Bones, New Girl, Go On, & Arrow..... I think we *might* watch something else too but I can't remember.

@runsyellowlites: is it glitchy? are the commercials annoying? do you have netflix too? we're locked into a directv contract right now (but it's almost up and then we plan to get rid of our cable), so i'm looking into other options.

@Mrs. High Heels: Ummm sometimes it is, but that could be our internet connection as well... it hasn't been enough for us to look into "fixing" it. lol. We do have Netflix too & use that to watch old shows & movies.... I actually have some qualms with Netflix that for newer shows it takes FOREVER for them to release & put up the new seasons. Case in point season 3 of Sherlock won't go up until NEXT summer! Blah!
I went 5 years without TV before marrying DH so I'm plenty happy with it & he seems to be too. 20ish bucks a month just goes down so much smoother! lol

@runsyellowlites: oh ok, yea i can definitely do $20 a month versus the $65/month we're paying right now. most of the ppl i know who don't have cable have both netflix and hulu, that's why i asked.

We have it, but definitely use it more during the fall season. We have it and Netflix instead of cable, but tend to watch Hulu more. We're only watching MasterChef now, but in the fall I watch Parks & Rec, New Girl, The Middle, Modern Family, Grey's, etc etc. It's kind of BS to have to pay for a service but still deal with ads, but I guess the price is low enough that I just get over it.

Oh yea.. the ads aren't my favorite, but they are still alot better & more censored than regular tv ads (one of the huge reasons we don't have cable).... and during the fall (October) I HATE that they're always showing horror movie trailers! HATE HATE HATE IT, especially during Bones! boo!

@allison: i wish there were better selections over the summer. in the summer, my default tv is bravo and HGTV, but if we cancel cable, that'll be gone.
@runsyellowlites: ME TOO. i make my husband mute it or change the channel IMMEDIATELY if anything scary comes on - yes, even commercials!! i haven't seen a scary movie in over 10 years and i don't intend to ever watch one again.

@Mrs. High Heels: don't remind me about HGTV! I used to watch that channel all.the.time. But really, tv is just like anything else: it's hard to give it up, at first. But after awhile, you get used to it and not having cable becomes the new normal.

We just switched to hulu plus from netflix. We already use it a lot more.
A big plus for me is the option of closed captions! I use it while I'm on the treadmill so I can actually follow, and if I watch while the kids nap so I can keep the volume a little lower.
I don't love the ads, but I like that kids shows are ad free. (And I'd rather have captions and ads than no captions.) And I like than I can throw on a pbs kids show any time of day for a few when I need it.
The old interface is kind of glitchy for me on our smart tv, but our tablet and wii have the new one and its designed just like the website and we have very few issues.

@Mrs. High Heels: umm hello twin I did the exact same thing last week haha!! (Except I watched season 1 on amazon instant).
We also used a free trial in the past to watch Greys and are catching up on parks and rec before we cancel

I find Hulu helpful because we're stuck with directv which stops working during bad weather and it thunderstorms every day now. At some point I discovered that one of the channels is Dramafever and I can watch all kinds of Korean dramas!
ETA: We watch on TV using a Roku.

We have it! Gotta say, it's nice to have Thomas on demand for LO, ha. I don't use it much now, but when I'm nursing the new kiddo I think I'll be catching up on some shows!

We have it! It's definitely more useful in the fall, but it's nice to have pretty much any show on demand.

@spaniellove: we have a roku too for our netflix. if you're into korean dramas, i recommend City Hunter (on netflix) if you haven't already seen it. best kdrama i've seen in a loooong time!
@Mrs. Yoyo: i wonder if dora is on demand too, that's our LO's go to show

@Mrs. High Heels: Yes! We watched City Hunter recently and now every time we see a Veloster we joke that it might be him!
