Technically no. But the building I work in will not be opened so its a "free" day for me because I cant get in. I think its redic that my company does not give it off as a Holiday. Considering two thing: 0ne- we work for the Military and two- over 90% of the employees in my company are former Military (Veterans). What the heck!

Yes. And I took a half day this Friday. With work events and holidays and vacation, I don't have a full week of work until January 6, 2013.

We were supposed to have professional development at work, but they decided to give us off. Only thing is I have to be at school at night for open house! Bummer.

yep. its a stat holiday here (Remembrance Day) and we always spend it at our local ceremony.

Nope. In Canada some government offices are closed as well as banks, but I'm at work today, as are most others
I'm taking a long weekend this coming weekend to go away with DH and my BFF, so I can't really complain!

@hergreenapples: It's actually a stat in a few provinces (like at home in NS) so that's why the federal government is off! I'm one of them
it works out well bc the ultrasound place is open so I get to go for that without having to take time off!
But I'm excited about the 4-day weekend coming up for Thanksgiving!
