Wagon Sr. and I are grandfathered in with unlimited data on Verizon (they got rid of their unlimited plans) so we can never sign a new contract. So we buy used phones. It's worked really well for us so far!
I can't imagine not having unlimited.. I'd always be afraid of going over and not being able to use it towards the end of the billing cycle! Plus, when I was pumping 4x a day I streamed Netflix and used over 20gb of data a month!

We have unlimited everything with Verizon. Was cheaper to switch to unlimited everything than the plan we had before, woot woot no limits!

yep, i have sprint and we have an unlimited plan. we use so much data! we didn't have the internet or TV hooked up at home for a while and i got a cable to stream netflix through my iphone to the tv, it was awesome!

The DH and I have unlimited with AT&T. We were grandfathered in as well.

Nope, and DH and I share it with my ILs. But I mostly do things that would use data when I'm at home, and it doesn't count here because it's over our wireless network, not 4G. So even with 4 of us we almost never hit 50% usage.
We use most of our data using Waze on the road.

Yup, grandfather ed into AT&T and we've upgraded a few times since! That's crazy that you can't on Verizon!

Yup, we're also grandfathered on AT&T and on a really cheap plan from my old hospital, so I can never do anything remotely different so they don't kick me off

Nope. We grandfathered in on verizon but recently upgraded when DH got a new phone. They made us change. WE share 4gb. This past month we stayed well under that so not too bad. That's just our phones.

Yep, grandfathered in with AT&T. That's nuts that you can't upgrade and keep it! I've always been allowed to keep mine through upgrades. They do try to trick you and be sneaky to get you out of the unlimited data.

Grandfathered on at&t here too! Thank god because I have an hr and 45 min commute on the bus each way and netflix is my savior! And recently I started streaming while on the treadmill at the gym so i use a LOT of data. Good thing about at&t is that they will let you upgrade and keep your plan - i've upgraded twice and they let me keep it!

we're on a share everything now bc we don't use that much data. Ended up saving over 100/month on our phone bill!

I'm grandfathered into an unlimited plan with Sprint and able to upgrade every 2 years. I only pay $50 plus tax for unlimited data for an iPhone. Used to only be $30 with an old school smartphone.

We did have unlimited, but by switching to a share everything plan we were able to save $40/month. Our data usage history has us rarely going over 2 gb. We added DH's dad to our plan and upped it to 4 gb, which is tons extra for us. The most I use my phone is when I'm already connected to wifi.

Ugh we don't because we chose to upgrade our phones and they didn't really inform us properly about the whole grandfathering in/not being able to upgrade thing with Verizon. So I went from having unlimited with my Blackberry to having 2 gb a month with my Samsung Galaxy. Luckily after the first few months we checked our data and were never even using 1 gb a month, so we dropped down to 1 gb to save money. When I'm home I just make sure my phone's connected to our wifi.

On a phone, I could probably do fine with 5 gigs but at home we have 300 gigs of bandwidth and I can't imagine less now.

I have a "unlimited" straight talk plan that means I get throttled if I use over 1.5 gb. It sucks.

Yep. But in Austria, the plans are insanely cheap. I have like 1000min, 1000 texts and unlimited data for around $20. (Had a very similar plan in France last year too). The US is a total ripoff for cell phone plans!

Yes but its 'unlimited'. They throttle back your speed at 10 gb. So streaming like two videos uses it up. Bastards lol

Nope! We share 6 GB btwn me, DH and my 20 yr old step-son - and we never go over.
While at home we use our Wi-Fi so we aren't using data

No data at all. DH and I are grandfathered on a joint Sprint plan that is super old school and super cheap. Won't change it and have to buy old (Centro) phones. I can text a ton and don't have to count minutes.

I don't have unlimited data, but I don't feel I need it. It seems like I'm on my phone the most when I'm at home, and there the wifi kicks in so it doesn't count against my data allowance.
