I want to get a wii console for DH xmas. He's wanted it for a while and I bought him an xbox a few years ago by mistake because I didnt pay attention to which one he wanted lol. Anyway if you have one what are the best games to get and which console is best.
I dont think I want to get the new Wii U because he isnt the type to play on the mini screen, he just wants to play the active interactive games.

We have one, though it's a few years old and I don't know anything about the newer versions. We LOVE the Super Mario Bros game as well as Mario Cart! Sooooo much fun!

I have a Wii and love the generic games it comes with along with Mario Party games and Mario Kart! I also love the EA Active: More Workouts!! I got in shape for my wedding that way and got very toned!! Only thing I didn't like about it was the sensor didn't always pick up my moves so I'd be doing my 15th bicep curl and it's only counted like 7 of the required 10.
On the other hand, since you have the Xbox already, what about just getting the Kinect attachment for it?? I'm not a Xbox player at all, but actually enjoy the Kinect more than the Wii in regards to interactive games.

We have a Wii and we used it for a long time before getting a PS3. The thing about the new Wii U is that it is in 1080p now, so the image quality is much much better than the original. I don't think you have to use the tablet to play all the games though... I could be wrong. I think you can still use the regular Wiimotes. There's going to be a lot more games released for the Wii U because it has hi-def now. I saw someone playing it in the store the other day and the quality of it was much better than our Wii!
Getting the kinect for the xbox is a great idea! But he might want the Nintendo specific games like Mario and such. Super Mario galaxy, Super Mario Bros are terrific games! -
Yes, we got one a couple years ago, and although we liked it at first, we don't use it nearly as much as our PS3. It really depends on what kind of gamer your husband is- does he play first-person shooters? Platforms? (i.e. does he play Halo? Call of Duty? Mario Kart and Super Mario?) The Wii is great for family/party games as well as all the Mario games, but is sorely lacking in the graphics/big game department.
On the Wii, I really enjoy Sports Resort and Mario Kart, and my husband plays Zelda, Mario Galaxy, and Paper Mario

DH just got the new Wii U and he's disappointed with it but he's a loyal Nintendo fan so he's still going to keep it. You don't have to just play on the tablet.
For the old Wii, Mario Kart, Super Mario, Mario Galaxy, and Call of Duty are his favorite games I think.

Yes I thought about getting kinect but the games arent as great. Yes I head the wii U is higher def and a lot nicer, but I dont know if its worth the price though. He isnt that much of a gamer to spend over $300 on a console
My husband really enjoys playing the wii sports games. he isnt into the shooting games -
we got it for each other for Christmas a couple years ago!
DH's favorite games are the james bond games, mario cart, super mario bros, supersmash bros, the wii sports and the guy games like halo. Oh! and sonic and zelda he likes too.
we like it. but we mostly use it for netflix now.

@Mrsbells: yes. There might be accessories that you need for some sports games, too. They definitely know how to get you to spend a lot of money!

We like Mariokart and the WiiSports and WiiSports Resort. Have a few others, but those are what we play most often. We have the accessories, but don't use the wheel for mariokart, you can totally play without it.

We liked Wii sports, mariokart and big brain academy back when we used ours. I should probably give it away, seeing as how its collected dust for over 2 years.
