We never felt the need to, but K woke up super early and cranky, and she did mentioned water water at some point (but she was also spewing other nonsense) so we didn't think much of it. When we went downstairs though she went to town with water so then I feel bad! So I'm gonna put a sippy cup in bed with us so she can drink some water first thing in the morning...

When they were in a crib yes - once in a bed they could get up an get it themselves

I don't currently but have thought about it. He still gets milk before bed in a sippy, and if he wakes up MOTN I'll get him a cup of water, or I keep a water bottle next to my bed that he'll drink from.

Yep. She hardly drinks it but one less thing she has to ask for!

When we night weaned this week, I had water at the bedside that I tried to offer instead, he was like what the hell is that? Even though he loves water normally. haha!

Nope, I've never put drinks in beds. Our older (4.5y) will take a cup of water to her room when she's got a bad cough (like now), but she won't get up during the night to drink unless I go in and suggest that she take a drink.

I do for both my big girls.
Little sister has a Contigo that I've heard her drink from in the middle of the night.
Big sister has a Camelbak that she emptied last night and woke me up at three to refill.
They both drink during the night and I'm happy they're listening to their bodies. I have to set alarms to remind myself to drink water. -
No, but G wakes and some mornings will ask for "milk" right off the bat!

All this water talk....G will NOT drink plain water, I cut it with her afternoon milk to get in a few ounces but she apits plain water right out, I've even mixed a little juice no go!!!

Some nights LO requests a cup of water next to his bed. He usually takes a few sips before he goes to sleep.

We don't usually (she's a pretty deep sleeper and I don't think she usually wakes) but she was sick with a fever and possible sore throat this past weekend so I put her Miracle 360 cup in bed with her - no clue whether she drank from it but I felt better knowing she could.

Yes. I keep a sippy cup in her crib with water. She uses it pretty frequently too.

@snowjewelz: I would like to do this when DS is old enough for a straw cup but I have heard leaving a drink in the crib is bad for teeth ... do you think water is an exception though? I bet so??

@wrkbrk: It's my understanding that water is totally fine.
I, however, regret starting the habit of having water in the crib. Both my girls (almost 2 and almost 4) like to drink A LOT at night. It's proving very hard to break the habit of having it there, and isn't helping to get my older daughter out of pull-ups at night. Then again, I wouldn't want to get up and take them water every time they call for it, so it's kind of a pick your poison situation, I think.

@PinkElephant: that's a good point if it will possibly affect potty training later on! also we don't have any leakage issues at all so I wouldn't want to start it, haha.
Tho I don't think DD would even remember there's water to get MOTN... I'll prob just keep a sippy cup on the night stand to give to her in the morning.

No, but LO has never woken up asking for it. He's a pretty deep sleeper most of the time. He is really thirsty when he wakes up though!

no. he usually asks to have some for bedtime so we keep it in his room, but he has rejected our attempts to leave the actual bottle/cup in his bed.

My two year old just holds her cup. She only actually drinks the water once in a while. I haven't started it with my second. She never has anything in her bed so I'm worried it would be a distraction and she sleeps fairly well so I don't feel she needs it.
