hmm what would we consider older? not really IRL..I know some that had their first in their mid 30s, but I don't necessarily consider that *older*...maybe just older than I.

I was 33 when I got pregnant and had her at 34. Am I older? I am the oldest one I know.

Bunches over 30 or 35 and several FTMs over 40 too, including one of DH's good friends.

Most of our friends were 30+ when they had their first; many were 35+ before they had their first.

@Smurfette: hahaha - thanks! I'm totally good with my age as long as I look a little younger than I am.

I'm 35 and pregnant with my first. My old boss had her first at 38, and her 2nd at 43.

My teacher assistant is a week behind me in her pregnancy and she's 40. She has a 10 year old daughter though.

I was 38 when I got pregnant and 39 when I delivered. Lots of first time moms in their 40's in the DC metro area.

My grandma got knocked up at 44. My uncle was a big surprise. He was her fifth baby though.
A good friend of mine had her first at 40.

@MsLipGloss: Me too! I don't feel "older" but I certainly know I'm on the high end of the range

My in laws were in their early 40s when DH was born, and late 30s when his older brother was born! My grandma was a young mom and an older mom, though not ftm; she had a lot of kids!! I know that I know more but I can't think of them off the top of my head. I know a LOT of young mamas since I'm young.

My sister was 35, and my SIL was 37, I think, when they had their firsts. I think they are the oldest I know personally, but I don't think that is that old. I'm 32 and most of my friends are my age, so I'm sure there will be more as we get older.

What's older? Is it "advanced maternal age" at 35? I had LO a couple of weeks before my 34th birthday.
I live in NYC, so yes, I know many "older" moms who had their firsts between 37 and 40.

I know plenty who had their first in the 37-40 age range, but not many who had their first after that.

Probably the oldest FTM would be 35-36, but I don't really consider that old for having a child.

I consider older FTM's to be 40+, and the city we lived in previously was rife with them- I was often made to feel like I was crazy for having a child under 30 which was frustrating. Mommy groups were a nightmare. The town we now live in I've yet to see one older mama with a baby, FTM or not.

Does my mom count? Haha, she was 42 when she had me and 45 when she had my sister.

Most of the pregnant women in my office have been older than me but I don't know their ages, 40ish? I was surprised how many people in my office commented on me having a baby so young. I'm 30 which I didn't think was especially young.

DHs cousin is in her early 30s and has 3 under 4, but her DH is mid to late 40s.
