My best friend is a total tiger mom. She admits it too. She makes her daughter takes abacus class, violin, piano, ballet and art. All in the same week! And she gets tutoring in math. Her daughter's only 5!

@sslm: I don't know the formal definition but to me, it's a mom who pushes her kids and restricts their leisure/free time in pursuit of academic excellence. I think it's a term that has been around for a while but became really popular when Amu Chua's book came out.
