If you decorate for the holidays, do you let your children help you? We put up the decorations Sunday and my 3 year old wanted to help so badly. I had to find the non-breakables in the boxes to let her "help" me put them around the house. She also helped us decorate the tree. There are a lot of decorations at the BOTTOM of the tree this year.

Yup! All of ours are non breakable, we actually made them this year.

I sure do/will. DD is 2 and I can't wait. We pulled the stuff out over the weekend and we'll start decorating in the evenings and get our tree Saturday

Yes, we let our 2 year old help decorate the tree. However, I went through the box of ornaments ahead of time and removed all the potentially breakable ones and put them elsewhere this year. Luckily most of ours are not breakable anyway (since we had cats before LO). We have lots on the bottom this year too.

Not yet! DD is only 12 mo and when I did let her I basically got nothing done haha. I'm slowly doing it at night when she's asleep!

Oh yes, LO was so excited to decorate the tree! I laid out all of the non-breakable ornaments for her to put on the tree, and then she helped me put the breakable ones on the tree (she picked out the ornament location, I did the actual putting onto the tree).

Yes! He was thrilled to help us decorate the tree this year. He put most of the non breakable ornaments on the bottom where he is allowed to move them around.

This is our first year having a tree with her or that she is really aware of it (she's 2, previous two years we traveled for Christmas so it just didn't make sense to bother with a tree).
My plan is to go buy the tree with her in the morning, then set it up in the stand and get the lights and stuff on it during nap time. Then she can help put the ornaments on (after we have taken out any breakable ones). Planning to do it this weekend so we will see how it really goes!

Oh yes! My daughter has to help me do everything, so decorating is no exception! I love how she loves helping! I know it won't last forever
