Yup! I figure it's like responding "I'm well thanks" to someone asking "how are you?"

I'm not going to get into issues with people I don't know - they don't want to hear it, and I don't want to tell them!

I suppose I do when I say "I'm doing well" even though the real answer would be "I'm bloated, swollen, sore, tired, hungry, and just want to go home and put my feet up."

All the time! When people ask how I'm feeling or say I look great (preg w/twins). They don't want to hear that I wanna barf most moments of the day, that my back is on fire, round ligament pain makes it difficult to stand up & that I alternate between constipation & diarrhea. I just say, "doing pretty good, thanks."

Yup-- no one actually wants to hear how tired I am but that I can't sleep at night because my belly is so huge or anything like that. So I give the usual 'Oh I'm feeling really good, I've been really lucky' which is mostly but not all true.

I do sort of enjoy telling people my due date now since no one expects to actually here 'Oh next week or so. ' Then they look nervous that my water is about to break on their shoes. It's a good way to get faster service.

@septemberlove: OMG I totally do the same thing with my preemie! She was 2 months early so if I say her real age (5 months) everyone is like "whoa she's tiny!" So DH and I just make up different ages for her...depends on what we feel like that day. And sometimes we say "weeks" and sometimes "months" lol.

@Mrs. Jacks: I would say "hanging in there" towards the end of my pregnancy ... people got the idea and didn't press for details

I've learned the hard way to lie about how well she sleeps ... I really don't need random stranger/nosey-neighbor-who-doesn't-have-kids telling me how to get my lo to sleep better unless they're willing to come over at 2am and handle it. Actually, no ... I don't want that either I just say she sleeps great. Lies.
