I loooove baby clothing, but only up to a certain age. I dressed LO very babyish until maybe 4m. No jeans, no vests, no cardis before that! Then I started getting creative and now, at 7+m, he only wears babyish stuff to bed (sleeper/onesie). Especially now that it's summer: he would overheat if I had him in footed pants! Ah!

I prefer clothes to look more like "real" clothes than the cutesy baby styles. We got a ton of gifts and hand me downs of the cutesy clothes, so I put her in those for around the house and in the clothes I prefer if we go out.

I like a mix. C has some more babyish stuff and some more grown up looking stuff. I think I generally dress her pretty simply with a slightly cutesy/girl edge? She wear a lot of the shirt or onesie/cardigan/jeggings combo. I favor solid colored pants and prints on top. I'm a sucker for a legging with a tutu. lol

These are some good examples. The last is about as "babyish" as we get.

@Mrs. Pen: I think so! I love putting her in skinny jeans (at this point they are more like Jeggings though, elastic waisted) with blouses, beautiful dresses, and rompers in more "grown up" fabrics. I'm not a fan of clothes with graphics or characters (ick), and I don't really like sleeveless things on little ones usually either.

I guess my style is... Classic but fun?

I like a mixture, but lean more in the way of babyish and cutesy. I hate when babies are dressed too adult. Like a wool scarf on a baby... really? They're only little for such a short time it seems like a shame to rush them into childhood and adulthood. I love ruffles and smocked dresses. And I LOVE a John John on a little boy!

@petunia354: He looked SO cute in his church outfit today! That is the cute little look I love for baby boys. I don't love the mommy/daddy/grandma clothes either, but people LOVE to gift them. We usually just take a picture of her in them for the gifter & then donate! ha

@Mrs. Pen: Her wardrobe could be all Tea Collection, Zara, and some Peek, and I'd be thrilled.

@photojane: I agree! When LO's are too dressed like adults whe cute they don't look comfy to me. They are only little for a short time, I want to dress her like her age. I can't imagine putting a belt around a dress on her.

Yeah I think belts on girls need to cone I ce they can actually walk and not sitting all the time.

My number one pet peeve is when kids don't look comfy or like they can move! I'm resigned as well once LO is older that ill let him wear what he wants even if its gym shorts!

I like a mix of both; I like prints and brights that are probably kiddish. I avoid licensed characters, pastels, tank tops, and anything mommy/daddy etc

It's summer in Florida, so he currently wears a cotton tshirt and Oxford shorts. It's way too hot to care if he looks like an adult or baby. I feel bad making him wear a polo shirt, at this point. In the winter, I dressed him more grown up, though. I don't like anything too kiddie ("I love grandma" and such). He totally wears things like TMNT and batman shirts, though.

@Smurfette: for sure! Comfort is #1 - especially now that Sadie is either folded in half with her whole foot in her mouth or rolling around the living room!

@rawrasaur: the heat is totally a factor here too! It's already in the 90's & 80%+ humidity. Shoot, she's just in a diaper most days!

I love baby clothes. She's only going to be a baby once! She's 22 months and I still haven't put her in jeans. They just seem so uncomfortable. I know I'd rather wear leggings.... But I can't pull them off like she can.

I'm not exactly sure what babyish clothes are. But I do love cutesy stuff! Having a baby girl gives me a good excuse to buy the stuff!

I love when DS looks like a little man, and I love babies in formal wear. That said, comfort is king for us so he wears onesies, sweat pants, etc a lot. I have adorable jeans and suits for him, but I save those for when I want him to be dressed up (church, weddings, etc). We're also trying to save money, so we use a lot of gifts and hand me downs or buy his clothes at consignment shops. The cost of nicer baby clothes is just not worth it to me, and many of the little man styles I like cost more than babyish stuff (especially free hand me downs).
