my fave is the one covered in soy powder. It's messy and DH hates it when i eat in the car. I love the sesame paste filled ones too, but only when my grandma makes them...i find the commercial ones tad sweet.
i love mochi green tea ice cream. yum!

nope I've never liked the texture, and it's not sweet enough for me. I'll eat the mochi kind every now and then, but it's not like I'm looking for it... only if it's there.

@Mrs. High Heels: My dad used to say to me that real men don't eat dduk, hah! I thought it was silly that he said that. I noticed a lot of my korean friends' fathers don't eat dduk too.

Weird question, but are you supposed to dip one of the white dduks in soy sauce/sesame seed oil? I swear I've done this as a kid but when I go to the Korean market it looks like both the skinny and the fat tube-ish versions (getting real technical here) look like they're supposed to be cut into ddukbokki.

@highwire: It's a Korean rice cake that comes in a variety of forms. Some are sweet and dessert-y, some you can put into soups and stews. The closest thing I can sort of compare it to is gnocchi but even that is a bit of a stretch.

I don't love most dduks but I looove injulmi.
@serendipity: Yeah, there must be something weird about men and dduk because my dad will eat ANYthing. Really, I mean ANYTHING. But he won't eat dduk. And my husband doesn't like dduk either.

I looove it and I'm not even Korean. I like the one with sweet sesame filling and the one with raisins that you get at a dol party!!
