while having the lump sum check is nice, i don't like thinking that we gave uncle sam an interest free loan!

I like returns - it's always such a nice extra bit of money. I knew someone who did their taxes every 3 months so that the gov't didn't get the interest free loans. Too much work for my liking.

Yes! I'd much rather have a lump sum than a few bucks a week I'd never notice or benefit from. We can do a lot with a lump sum

I liked getting the refund but now we break even every year.
