I love having a tan. I am sitting in a chair in my backyard (slathered in SPF 55) and I hope I can get a little color before LO wakes up from her nap.

I used to and still think I look much healthier with one, but being pregnant and worrying about sun exposure means I hardly sit out in the sun any more.

I love it! I have never gone to a tanning bed though. I wish I could be working on one right now instead of watching it snow out my window

Yup! I just look better when I have color. I use fake tanner every now and then but it doesn't have the same effect.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
I do, but I rarely lay out and I wear sunscreen now. I just like being in the sun, near the water. It's relaxing!

I love being tan! I'm so naturally pale that I feel like I look almost sick without one- which is most of the time unfortunately
pear / 1787 posts
No, I'm very pale and don't really tan (just burn) so I don't bother. I'm paranoid about skin cancer, so it doesn't bug me. It helps that I live in Oregon, though, so with the exception of some college girls, most people are pale!
bananas / 9899 posts
Yes, but I simply don't naturally. I only burn in the sun, so I always wear high SPF sunscreen and stay in the shade. I have had some spray tans that look really nice, but they're expensive.
pomegranate / 3329 posts
Yes, but I can't get a natural tan I use to go to a tanning bed almost daily, I was so dark and loved it. I would love to be tan again.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
Yes! I always wear sunscreen. I am going to miss spending my Saturdays at the pool with a book and beer.
papaya / 10560 posts
i do, but i tanned too much in my HS and college days and am now worried about skin cancer. pale is the new tan for me!
pear / 1895 posts
I love to be tan. I'm naturally very pale. And not the pretty "peaches and cream" pale like some people have. Like, you can see my blue veins through my skin pale. But I can tan if I work hard enough at it. I tanned in HS and college during the summer. I regret it because I have lots of moles so probably also skin cancer. But I do still lay out for around 30 minutes to get vitamin D. I think some sun exposure is good for your body.

I have a natural permanent tan and I like it, I have never gotten a sunburn! Hopefully I can go out side this year and get even more tan since I haven't been out in the sun for any period of time in a few years.
GOLD / wonderful grape / 20289 posts
No. I used to, but now I've embraced my paleness and feel like it's healthiest for me.
watermelon / 14206 posts
Nope...too much skin cancer in my family for me to do that. I just accept my pasty whiteness instead!
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
Yes, my hair is so dark that having a team definitely looks better. My legs are super pale though because I wear pants so often. I'm uneven
papaya / 10473 posts
Yes, I look so much better! But my mom has had a couple of cancerous spots removed, so i only do the fake stuff.
St Tropez mousse from Sephora is the shizz.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
I like the way I look a little tanned, but I still try to be good about staying in the shade and definitely wearing sunscreen. Even with SPF, I'll usually get a little color just from walking around in the nice weather and I think that looks better, but of course I worry about wrinkles and skin cancer (sadly, in that order).
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@grizz: Yeah the St Tropez is my favorite too! That, or just the Jergen's Daily Glow, which is probably better for me since I always end up with too tan palms from the mousse!
watermelon / 14467 posts
I'm naturally tan, but I love a nice simmer tan. With a family history of skin cancer though, I rarely lay out and have only been to the tanning bed five times in the last 10 years.
nectarine / 2504 posts
I do!! I really like feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin and the tan is just an added benefit. I do slather on SPF ahead of time so I don't get as tan as I can.
pineapple / 12802 posts
I do now. I never used to though. I love it because I get INSANE freckles and I love my freckles!
I don't go often, just a few times to the fake n bake and then lots of natural sunlight. I still wear sunscreen and don't do any dangerous light exposure, but I do try to get lots of sunlight!
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
I like having a tan (although my *tan* is probably not much compared to most!) because of what it represents is going on in my life . . . that I have been somewhere warm and sunny, and because I was there to lounge and relax! I haven't had a tan--or been to a beach--since my honeymoon in 2010. I digress . . .
@yellowbird: lol! and too true!

I do. My hair lightens and my skin just looks so much better and clearer with some sun. I still wear high SPF sunscreen and a hat. I wish it wasn't so bad for you!
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
nope i like being pale. but i am so tanned post kids because we're out and about as much as we can.
GOLD / papaya / 10206 posts
I love the look of a little healthy glow, but I don't lay out in oil like I did in my early teens. Wrinkles and skin cancer scare me. I like to get accidental tans from being outside in the fresh air and just getting some indirect sun.
coconut / 8498 posts
I do. I look healthier all around, especially my hair and skin, with some sun. I still slather on the SPF religiously, though.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
Yes, I think I look way better with a tan. I usually fake it with a spray tan though, and I'm a religious sunscreen user, but I love color!
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
I'm naturally on the tan side. I try to stay out of the sun!
pomelo / 5509 posts
I love having a tan! I tan pretty easily and I think I look so much better when I've got a little color. Exposure to the sun (with SPF of course!) seems to help clear my skin up, too.

i loveeee having a tan, but, i am way more cautious than i was when i was younger! now i slather on spf and limit myself
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
i LOVE it. but now i'm too paranoid to tan. need to find a good spray tanning company!
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@prettylizy: "accidental tans" . . . lol! Sort of reminiscent of a drive by fruiting!
