I have found that I love planning and doing all the work involved with parties, except for the actual hosting. Actually hosting stresses me out and I prefer to just mingle and wander around snapping pics.
Do you enjoy hosting birthday parties?

I am exactly like you! I love to plan but I hate hosting on the actual day. I like being behind the scene photographer type too.

I am the same - love the planning and the preparation, but am usually too stressed during the event to enjoy it. Luckily, my husband is a great host for the actual events and dislikes the planning and prep.

I love all the planning and work that goes into the party itself. And so far we have only had our families at parties so hosting hasn't been too stressful. But I probably enjoy the planning and prep more.

I love hosting! I'm not a pre-planner, but I am sociable. I guess I tend to have more relaxed gatherings, so they don't stress me out.

Nope nope nope. I just had my son's birthday at a local play place and they set up ,tore down, facilitated games with the kids. It was AWESOME! Totally worth the money and no stress! All we did was get a cake and order pizza. Amaze-balls!

@Anagram: that sounds like me! I work on the philosophy that all that people really care about is the food, drinks and good company. We had 25 kids under the age of five for my big girl's 4th birthday and it was a breeze because all I did was put on heaps of simple but tasty food and let them run wild outside!

I hate both planning and hosting. Genuinely time wasting, and I worry nonstop about if I am inviting too little/too many people, if so and so will be bored since so and so is not coming...etc. Last year we just went to a show in a performance theatre with DS and his best buddy. We had brunch and mimosas (the grown ups lol) prior to the show and that was perfect. This year I am doing a home party and it is stressing me out. grrrr.

At my home, no. I don't mind if it's at a venue where they take care of all the details for me.
