I like long road trips. I used to hate it because solo driving makes me tired but now that my husband drives most of the way, it's great. He loves long road trips.

I'm trying to convince him to let us buy a teardrop trailer for our road trips. We've driven 14 hours to get to San Francisco. We've driven 8 hours south to southern Oregon for a weekend trip (16 hours of driving in one weekend!). Yeah, my car was racking up a lot of miles for a while there.

We are planning a trip out to Montana, which is 14+ hrs away from us. We also are planning a 2 week long road trip to WY, CO, NM, AZ and CA.

You have to look up tear drop trailers, like the T@B or the Little Guy. Or this one: http://theteardroptrailer.blogspot.com/2008/11/tour.html It's a mini sleeping trailer and it's so cute! Plus, it's light enough that my accord can pull it. It's perfect for us because we are always moving. We can just pull over at a truck stop or a campsite and sleep. I think it's an investment because we plan to drive across the country. Also, I hear they are pretty rare and some consider them a collectible. It can save us money in hotels. Plus, when we take our dog on road trips, the hotels charge a $50 pet fee on top of the nightly rate.

Anyway, do you like road trips? What about long ones?

I'm sure once we have kids, the road trips will probably decrease.
